KIDSGUIDE

MAKING FAMILY LIFE BETTER

Liz Davis

PUBLISHER Kidsguide’s Fearless Founder & Mastermind

FROM LIZ: Pages 4-14: Find the perfect summer camp. There are 75+ to choose from—cooking, skateboarding, STEM, performing arts—there’s something for every age, toddlers to teens.

Pages 15-27: Find the best attractions in Southern California: water parks, museums, family fun centers, farms and animal encounters, historical sites, nature and gardens, train rides, and lots more.

Pages 28-31: Find resources for education and enrichment, health providers, parenting support, party providers, performing arts programs, and sports and recreation.

Summer is back! Camps are back! Family outings are back! Kidsguide is back! This is the first print issue we’ve published in a year and we are dedicating it––from the bottom of our hearts––to you… the parents, family members, teachers, and friends that stepped up this past year to not only raise the kids you love (which is no easy task), but to become an amazing teacher, energetic entertainer, backyard coach, counselor/referee, you name it…you have taken it on. You have dug deep to fill those hours at home with meaning and love, and for that, you are our hero. We wanted to give you our “Parent of the Year” award in person, but instead thought we’d put together a list of summer goodies that will make your family happy and hopefully give you a little break. Consider these 32 pages a thank you note from Kidsguide for the hard work, long hours, and basically, making it through one tough year. As for us, you can see that we have pared down to COVID survival mode, but there is a lot of (summer) light at the end of the tunnel and we are excited about the year ahead. Please visit our website regularly and sign up for Kidsguide’s event-newsy e-letter, The Buzzz (at kidsguidemagazine.com). We’ll be posting 4th of July activities, movies and concerts in the park, and tons of other summer activities you love. We’ve all learned a lot over this past year–– mostly about gratitude, for our families, for our health, and for the simplicity and sheer magic of a good long hug. That’s what we’re sending your way… a big hug (and lots of resources) for the amazing job you did, and do, every day. Let’s keep all that good stuff going.
