Edinboro University has the only accredited Master of Social Work (MSW) in northwest PA so students can earn both the Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BSW) and MSW at one institution in five years. Psychology graduates are enjoying careers all over the world in positions such as professor, school psychologist and attorney. Hundreds of Edinboro University animation graduates are enjoying careers in studios throughout the world. Many of their names can be seen in the credits of award-winning productions. Our Department of Art is one of the most comprehensive in the country offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Communication and Media Studies prepares students for careers in advertising and sales; broadcast, print and online journalism; interpersonal and organizational communication; and public relations.
The Department of Music is housed in the new Dr. William P. Alexander Music Center, a state-of-the-art facility with built-in technology.
Our BA Criminal Justice and BA Political Science graduates work as lawyers, campaign managers, police officers, federal law enforcement agents, criminal investigators, computer forensic investigators, probation officers, and prison managers. Social Work is considered a High Priority Occupation in northwestern PA anticipating over 20 percent increase in employment to 2016. The study of history and/or anthropology provides intellectual training in critical thinking, information management, and high-level language skills.
