Job Description and Application Process Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) seeks a new Western Campus President; a visionary who is a collaborative leader and who has the background and experience to lead the campus as a valued member of the local community, as well as Northeast Ohio. The Campus President is the chief executive officer of the campus and reports dually to the College President and the Executive Vice President for Access, Learning and Success. The Western Campus President also provides College-wide leadership in multi-campus programs including Business, Information Technology, and Early Childhood Education.
The successful candidate should possess the following strengths: • Strong commitment to student-centered learning and student’s needs • Record of success in finances, budgeting, resource generation and planning • Passion for career and technical education, liberal arts, transfer programs and workforce training • Understanding of the role remedial education has in the college environment • Ability to work collaboratively and successfully with unions representing the College’s employee groups • Excellent business acumen and positive experience in advocating
for the College to governmental, professional and civic organizations • Successful experience in Board relations, strategic planning and institutional assessment • Ability to practice open communication and embrace the culture of the region • Appreciation for and supporter of a diverse environment • Significant level of academic leadership experience in the technical and community college arena • Full understanding of and/or experience in a higher education institution
The successful candidate should also demonstrate the skills of a successful campus president: • Works with the entire campus community to develop campus-based student success initiatives • Identifies and takes action on strategic opportunities or issues that help or hinder progress • Identifies with and seeks support from those who have influence on the campus • Represents the campus community with a strong voice to internal and external audiences • Anticipates and effectively plans for change through strong collaboration and active communication • Works with various campus stakeholders to find mutually agreeable resolutions for key campus issues
• Provides a forum for the discussion of ideas and suggestions, and incorporates them into a variety of possible solutions for key campus issues • Promotes a cooperative work environment • Develops and maintains a highfunctioning network of internal and external relationships
Required experience/skills: 1. An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution 2. Teaching experience in higher education 3. Executive-level leadership and administrative experience 4. Experience in accreditation and/or compliance standards 5. Experience in developing and managing budgets 6. Student-centered vision with a commitment to enhancing student success 7. Understanding of a large urban educational environment 8. Proven record of fundraising and/or grant writing and grant administration 9. Understanding of the complexity of working in a multi-site environment and an ability to work collaboratively across the organization
10. Ability to develop and implement a vision for the campus that takes advantage of its strengths and provides it with a strong programmatic identity within the context of the Cuyahoga Community College brand

Widely known as Tri-C, Cuyahoga Community College was Ohio’s first community college and remains the state’s largest. Cuyahoga Community College Western Campus Located in Parma, Ohio, Tri-C’s Western Campus opened in 1966 in the former Crile Veterans Hospital. One of four traditional campuses of Cuyahoga Community College, the Campus’ original facilities were replaced in 1975 with a six-building interconnected complex centered around a three-story glass-roofed Galleria. The Campus has oversight of a university center located in the City of Brunswick, which serves southern Cuyahoga and Medina County residents. The Western Campus has a rich mix of direct-to-job and transfer programs. Campus programming includes numerous Health Careers programs, most notably a joint Physician’s Assistant master’s program with Cleveland State University. Students also benefit from industry-standard laboratories and learning environments such as the Advanced Automotive Technology Center and the Visual Communication Center of Excellence. Each year more than 12,000 credit and non-credit students take courses at the Western campus. Most recently, the Campus opened a regional Public Safety facility featuring credit, non-credit and training for first responders.
