Monday, August 1 · 2 PM · The JAI Under the Influence(r) SummerFest artists join industry expert Scott Mello (Opus 3 Artists) to explore how social media has impacted classical music and changed the landscape for artists today. They’ll also examine how the pandemic has reshaped the demand for online content and consider what is expected of artists and the industry going forward. Panel discussion hosted by Education & Community Programming Director Allison Boles. Thursday, August 4 · 2 PM · The JAI Weekend in Paris Prepare for a musical weekend in Paris like you’ve never experienced before. Jennifer Walker, assistant professor of musicology at West Virginia University, transports the audience back in time to the salons of Paris during La Belle Époque. A scholar of French music during the late nineteenth century, Dr. Walker is the author of numerous books and articles, and is the former Editorial Assistant for the Journal of the American Musicological Society. Monday, August 8 · 2 PM · The Baker-Baum Concert Hall Fellowship Artist Spotlight I Concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra, Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, and winner of the Pro Musicis International Award, violinist Erin Keefe is among the leading chamber musicians of her generation. She joins the Aestas Trio for our first Fellowship Artist Spotlight performance with Pelia Quartet.
