A U G U ST 2 - 2 3 , 2 0 1 9
I am enormously excited to present a groundbreaking new initiative: Synergy. The word Synergy, the interaction of two or more things to produce an effect greater than the sum of its parts, encapsulates the main Synergy Series, which aims to bring together artists from different fields for meaningful collaborations, exploring the space in which music and other art forms interact. In the second series, Takeover @ The JAI, we will be collaborating with co-curators, who will bring their own artistic vision to this exciting new space, and look at how we can transform the traditional concert experience. As a son of a contemporary ballet dancer, and a keen consumer of arts of all kinds, I’ve always tried to learn from and relate to all kinds of art, and have admired those who break down the barriers and narrow boxes that can separate different art forms, instruments and cultures. I hope this new initiative does just that. I am grateful to Clara Wu Tsai, co-creator and producer of this initiative, who helped dream this into being. See you at The Conrad!
