Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) has expert University staff available to guide you through the application process and to help ensure that you choose the degree best suited to your requirements and professional ambitions. Please see the Contact Us section of this guide for the best teams to contact.
We are proud of our status within the city of Liverpool, of our partnerships with longstanding cultural institutions, our extensive links with employers, entrepreneurs and business leaders and our influence on the cityscape with new state-of-the-art buildings becoming modern landmarks. Liverpool is a world-class cosmopolitan city that welcomes its diverse student community from all around the globe. Many of LJMU’s courses complement aspects of the city’s most prestigious recognitions, such as the proud winners of the Capital of Culture 2008 and the city’s very own waterfront being awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO in 2004, putting it on a par with the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China.

SONIA SOON CLASS OF 2015 After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Sonia Soon decided to step outside of her comfort zone and enhance her CV with an LLM in International Business Corporate and Finance Law. “My course involved many subjects that touched on various matters in today’s world. In other words, they were very relevant to the current market. The course allowed me to be open-minded towards the ranges of industries that I could explore with my qualification. My research skills and my commercial awareness improved exponentially during my time in LJMU. Taking part in faculty social events also helped me to expand my network in Liverpool and beyond.”
maintaining a great level of contact with her local alumni community. “My employer has offices elsewhere in the world and I now have the pleasure of helping to firmly establish the Malaysian branch, where I am located currently. I love my job as it allows me to maintain one of my other passions – travelling. Start-ups offer the kind of flexibility that breaks us away from a conventional 9-5 routine, which is so refreshing in a fastpaced working environment. Being a part of my University’s alumni community is so rewarding. I wish more people knew how strong that network can become beyond graduation.”
Sonia now works for a Fintech start-up, offering up an exchange platform for users to buy and sell cryptocurrency, as well as
