OPEN DAY PLANNER 2018 29 SEPTEMBER
ljmu.ac.uk/opendays
THANK YOU FOR COMING TO OUR OPEN DAY It’s great that you are considering studying at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), and you couldn’t have chosen a better time to come and see us in action. Three campuses, five faculties and over 21,000 students from over 100 countries make LJMU what it is today: a modern, student-centric university ranked in the top 50 universities in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2019). We can trace our roots back to 1823 and the establishment of the Liverpool Mechanics’ and Apprentices’ Library, however it was in 1992 that LJMU became
one of the UK’s first modern universities. This meant that people from a wider range of backgrounds, ethnic minorities and other under-represented groups could access all the benefits that a university education can bring. And 26 years on, we are still working to make sure that LJMU’s doors are open to everyone with potential.
Today, we offer you a university experience informed by our exceptional research and extensive industry links, which produces graduates who are socially engaged and entrepreneurial too. That’s why they are so highly sought after by employers across the UK and around the world. LJMU continues to grow and we would love for you to be part of our ambitious plans for the future. 2
PLANNING YOUR DAY We design our Open Days to give you choice and flexibility, enabling you to see as much as possible during your visit. However, with so much to see and do, it helps to have a plan! Follow these steps to get the most from your day with us.

I definitely made the right choice to study at LJMU, I can’t see myself studying or living anywhere other than Liverpool. It truly has become a home away from home. For me the best thing about living in student accommodation is it’s a great way to make friends as it’s such a social and friendly environment. The most challenging thing is having to cook and clean for yourself. Raphael Rodely Residential Assistant
