LIGHTING TO SUIT INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS SOPHISTICATED LIGHTING - GREAT SUPPORT FOR A LIFE IN DIGNITY! Like fire, light is one of the essential phenomena in all cultures. From time immemorial, it has always been a basic need for all beings on this planet. Light does not simply illuminate our environment, but tells stories, emphasizes objects and colors, adds zest and creates a specific atmosphere. Wherever natural light is not available, we have to create artificial light. It extends our living space.
Light - a core factor for health and wellbeing Derungs Licht AG strives to initiate a fundamentally different approach to light and to the effects it can create. Light is not simply one of the environmental factors which nowadays is hazardous to our health, but light has a significant impact on our wellbeing.

LIGHTING SOLUTIONS CORRIDORS / SOCIAL ROOMS / STAIRWELLS Not only the individual room of a resident or patient should provide a pleasant atmosphere. Especially residents in nursing homes have a very restricted field of action. They therefore consider floors as an extension of their living space.
Putting things in motion Mainly during the winter season or on days with bad weather, floors are the only space where residents can move. Through the use of optimal lighting systems, floors can become zones where residents move in a pleasant and protected atmosphere.
Dlite® vanera meets all criteria for optimal floor lighting. Specially designed plastic prismatic profiles can optimize the incidence of light. Light is directed via the ceiling and/or the walls towards the floor. This approach provides for well-balanced room lighting and pleasant, reflection- and shadefree light. Residents and nursing staff feel safe, can orientate themselves conveniently and mishaps can be avoided.
Since ceiling lamps are mounted directly to the ceiling, they are particularly suitable for floors with reduced ceiling heights. The ideal lighting solution for your floor!

LIGHTING SOLUTIONS CORRIDORS / SOCIAL ROOMS / STAIRWELLS At the heart of each one of our lighting designs is the goal to provide functional illumination by use of multiple lighting components. The luminaire itself should not dominate the overall room light levels, but rather allow for the correct balance of light while giving the designer freedom to customize it further. Implementing innovative technologies allows us to offer professional lighting, answering to all of your individual needs.

Prism profile for wide spaces
Dlite® vanera meets all criteria for optimal floor lighting. Specially designed plastic prismatic profiles can optimize the incidence of light.
Evaluation parameter for the assessment of the level of illumination of vertical and almost vertical surfaces of objects. It also serves as a criterion for the brightness of a room, and in particular, for the illumination of human faces.
Besides the standard prism profile already in use, a prism profile with different structure is also available for wider spaces: This prism profile is used in common areas, alcoves in corridor areas or wide stairways.
• Brightened rooms optimally enlarge narrow floors; indirect ceiling light provides for a friendly environment and lets • Optimal cylindrical luminous intensity rooms look wide and free (for excellent recognition of human faces, door latches, light switches, colors) • Improved energy balance through the use of fluorescent lamps and electronic • Precision and increased productivity series connectors due to the safe and speedy recognition of visual tasks (in particular for nursing staff) • E xcellent brightness perception: The ideal level of lighting provides for motivation and well-being
• Ideal solution for space widths from 5m • Glare is avoided due to the special surface structure, no direct view into illuminant • Broadly radiating: brightness in all nooks and niches

VISUAL TIMING LIGHT LIGHT CONTROLS LIFE Convenient, cost-efficient and modern light control in interior rooms provides significant benefits. The desired and necessary level of lighting can be adjusted to meet individual requirements. Light also serves as the timer of our biological clock, directly stimulates our senses and influences our mood. Our future-oriented lighting concept considers both the visual and the biological needs of human beings.
Using an innovative light management system (DALI), the 24-hour light cycle from dawn to dusk and during the night can be efficiently simulated. Based on its sophisticated daylight tracking feature (DALI) simulating the cycle of different light colors and brightness levels in the course of a day, the Dlite® vanera ceiling-mounted lamp for floors shows you when it is time to be active and when it is time to sleep. This nonverbal communication through the type of lighting is of great benefit for residents. Furthermore, it provides valuable support for nursing staff and numerous advantages for relatives during their visits.
Bright prospects • Simulation of the cycle of different light colors and brightness levels in the course of a day • The visual and biological needs of human beings (sleep-wake cycle) are duly considered • Non-verbal communication through the use of optimally adjusted lighting is particularly important for dementia patients. Light communicates to the resi-

VISUAL TIMING LIGHT DALI DALI – Digital Addressable Lighting Interface – is the cross-manufacturer interface standard for dimmable electronic lighting devices. DALI has primarily been designed for convenient control of lighting. The key focus is on straightforward operation of the light along with all associated components, without any complications.
The DALI-Principle A 2-wire control lead can be used for flexible control of up to 64 DALI lighting devices, individually, jointly or in up to 16 control groups. Since the lighting is switched on/off and dimmed via the control lead, no relay is required. Important information, such as the bulb status, is stored in the lighting device and available to the control device as data.
DALI, the new digital standard in the field of light control, enables the straightforward installation associated with the familiar 1–10V interface to be combined with the convenience of an intelligent light control system. In other words: Using DALI plugs the gap between the established 1–10V technology and complex bus systems.
A more in-depth look at DALI • No need to respect the polarity of the control leads with DALI ballasts • Existing power supply and control leads can be used • Interference-proof transmission to digital technology
due
• Each device can be activated individu ally • Group assignments only made on first use; no need for group wiring • DALI electronic ballasts can be assigned to several groups • Ambiance values and group assignments are stored in the electronic ballast (the number of components is significantly reduced compared to a 1–10 V system) • Feedback possible in respect to ballast status (bulb on/off, current brightness value, bulb fault)
• Special settings such as light variation rate or emergency power mode characteristics • When an ambience setting is called, all DALI electronic ballasts reach the dimming setpoint simultaneously DALI is a registered trademark of the ZVEI (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik und Elektroinstustrie e.V., German Central Association of the Electrical Engineering Sector and the Electrical Industry)
DALI can be connected via a gateway to a building management system (e.g. EIB or LON). If necessary, the light can also be switched on/off centrally or the DALI system can be checked e.g. for faulty bulbs..

LIGHTING SOLUTIONS BEDROOMS Caring for patients, as for elderly people, requires a large variation of illuminations. In this situation, the concept of professional lighting is of fundamental importance, answering to all the different demands from operators, staff, patients, elderly people and visitors.
Dlite® vanera Intensive care / patient care Most different lighting requirements must be met in intensive care units. Patients desire pleasant general lighting, bright and glare-free light for reading and a pleasant, strongly reduced level of lighting e.g. when watching TV in the evening. The nursing staff, however, requires bright light which provides optimal conditions for challenging work. Sufficient light for examinations and visits should be available.
Furthermore, nursing staff requires shadefree lighting, which means that shadows must be reduced to a minimum.
Elderly care nursing Residential homes for the elderly must be equipped with a lighting system that provides for a homelike atmosphere. Furthermore, the required level of safety must be ensured and residents should be supported
Bright prospects • The perfect, flexible solution for residents, nursing staff and architects • Well-adjusted, pleasant room light through indirect/direct lighting (asymmetrical diffusion of light) • Rooms become oases of well-being and recreation
• The integration of general lighting, examination lights, reading lights and special night lights im-prove the quality of life of patients/residents and nursing staff • Convenient and simple switching of different lighting scenarios • Cubic, slim, modern and unobtrusive design integrated into the overall architecture of the building
in their abilities to cope with the challenges of daily life. Light must create the ideal working environment to assist nursing staff in their tasks (examination light, reduced shade effects, etc.). At the same time, it must create an „at home“ atmosphere for residents through numerous light-related benefits. For example, special lighting is required at night in order to facilitate orientation. Furthermore, residents desire a separate reading light for relaxed, glare-free reading in bed.
11

LIGHTING SOLUTIONS BEDROOMS The combination of the various lighting possibilities, such as general lighting, lighting for medical care or examinations, reading or night lights, is obtained due to individually switchable indirect or direct lighting on the ceilings, walls and floors.
Irradiation characteristic
Dlite速 vanera LED night light
Special plastic prismatic profiles provide for optimized asymmetrical diffusion of light. Reduced light intensity on walls ensures evenly diffused lighting of the entire room and provides pleasant, glare- and reflectionfree lighting with reduced shade effects. The room is filled with light that creates a relaxing and cozy atmosphere.
Especially for elderly people and persons in need of care, the unobtrusive LED night light facilitates orientation at night. Additionally, the LED night light allows nursing staff to do their routine checks at night without switching on the normal room light.
