CURRENT CONDITION •
There are many high-rise buildings on the opposite bank, and the residents here lack space to get along with nature.
•
The site has basic natural and traffic conditions. However, long-term abandonment has led to few persons’ visit.
•
Due to lack of management, domestic refuse was dumped on the shore at will; Fish also have trouble surviving and reproducing because of pollution
•
Therefore, this project aims at the ecological and tourism transformation, so as to make it show its beauty.
• By increasing the aquatic plant richness and water quality, fish and birds will be • attracted to have a big meal or a nice dream here.
Installation of baffles in the water-front part of farmland to prevent damage to crops caused by floods. Build ornamental and experiential roads in the fields, and they may be more interested in having a meal here.

Floating devices provide people with space for water activities and opportunities for water games. Floating devices can be used as boats for people who want to come across the Hu Xi Creek . Floating devices provide fish with a place to play games, and the emergent plants in them not only play a role in purifying the river water, but also attract fish to come for food, which creates a small ecosystem.

The forest scene preserves most of the native trees, adds roads and some infrastructure services, and provides a good recreation place for people who are used to seeing concrete buildings in the city. Provide children with an access to natural education. The ornamental cropland shows the farming process to the visitors and makes them feel comfortable and safe about the food which will be made by those crops.

The heartland is usually planted with more orderly plants, such as most species of Echeveria DC.
Although paved grass is ornamental, it is essential. It can fill the remaining space, while not compete for room with the protagonists plants.
Plants that grow quickly, tend to rise or produce old stumps will be planted on the periphery of the site.

Lantingji Xu -----Wang xizhi Lanting Xu, is a piece of Chinese calligraphy work generally considered to be written by the well-known calligrapher Wang Xizhi (303? – 361?).
CONCEPT FROM: Fusion of Thoughts There are high mountains and steep hills, dense wood and slender bamboos, as well as a limpid flowing stream reflecting the surrounding. This painting depicts the scene in his work.
Design elements + Possible activities Design elements
Possible activities The core concept of this poem is that sitting around water talking about heaven and earth and exchanging philosophical thoughts.
BAMBOO

+
This coincides with the need for students to exchange their views on learning in a quiet and open place.
WATER Here the attempt was to create a spatial rich and definition by using four basic landscape elements proposed: sand, stone, bamboo and water.

04Green Land Center in CSUFT CURRENT SITUATION - Building This site is located on the western part of the Central South University of Forestry and Technology, the site used to be an unmanaged and closed region with vegetables, shrubs and a large number of trees. The renovation is aim at converting the site into a green center for research, teaching, exhibition and recreation.

EXISTING PROBLEMS
Topography
There is a steep slope at the entrance (the only entrance of the site). The roads are few and in some places even cracked, making many places inaccessible.
Container seedling area & Nursery garden The container seedling area between the greenhouse and shed is untidy. It can be better planned. The nursery is in the south of the site, which is abandoned but has a flat terrain. Hence, it can be reused.
The function of the site is less and the site is just used to be as a residential area for a family. There are no recreational facilities. The site is surrounded by railings, and the only entrance door was locked. So students and teachers can not enter it.
There is a lot of household waste that needs to be cleaned up.
DESIGN PROCESS
MASTER PLAN
Main entrance and exit
Main entrance and exit Secondary entrance and exit Container seedling area Laboratory Greenhouse Work shed Workers dormitory Vegetable garden Gathering center Original vegetation Nursery garden
DESIGN CONCEPT This design concept is “Follow nature and use it properly. For example, in this design, all the original vegetation will be preserved. Entrances and roads are also designed according to the terrain of the site. This can maximize the advantages of the site itself to reduce human and material costs.
DESIGN ANALYSIS - Buildings
DESIGN ANALYSIS - Circulation The design makes use of its original terrain to add two entrances and exits, and enables the three entrances to form a loop for pedestrians to pass through. Moreover, I will rebuild the topographic shape of the central part of the site, which makes it ornamental.
