It's the first newsletter of the term!! My name is Vincent Zeng, and I'll be serving as your Division Newsletter Editor for the 2023-2024 term! From this month on until the end of the term, there will be a newsletter waiting in your emails from me every month.
I consider this summer my freedom before college apps fall upon me as I'm a rising senior. I hope you guys can enjoy the summer times and have fun! Remember to not be too stressed with your extracurriculars and live in the moment!
It's the officially the second month of the new term woo. I'm excited to talk and meet you all! Just come up and say hi if you want to, I don't bite (although I may look mean sometimes) haha.
Yours in service,
Vincent Haoxuan Zeng Division Newsletter EditorThis is our first newsletter of the term (Applause for Vincent) so I hope you enjoy what it has in store. You've likely read this many times, but my name is Sean Phu I am serving as YOUR D2 South LTG for the 23-24 term! I hope that we can continue making publications on Instagram and Issuu, though I can't promise anything. I will say that I already love my division leadership team, they are so enthusiastic, innovative, and hardworking!
If I were to describe the past month it would be as hectic. Never in my life have I ever met so many new people, traveled around, planned events, done an all-nighter, laughed, etc. as much as these past two months. Though with that being said I have truly loved it and wouldn't trade it for the world. Thank you to those who have supported me in this pursuit, I will never forget how you've impacted me!

On May 20th, we had our first DCM of the term! While there was a very low attendance, I was happy to meet some of the new KIPP King, San Leandro, and San Lorenzo officers. As a service event we mainly worked on Color A Smile sheets. To de-stress we also played games such as debating random topics, poncho poncho, and goal setting.
On May 21st, we came together for the D2 Banquet to celebrate the end of the term and the officer deinstallment and installment ceremony. Various awards were given out, emotional speeches were made, and graduating seniors were able to say their final goodbyes before heading off to college. There was a huge turnout with over 180 people in attendance, allowing us to fundraise quite a bit of money for the division and make bonds. Thank you all for coming!
On May 17, we officially finalized Korey Dang the new President, La Admin, Brianna Yang the VP of S Wong the Secretary, Terence Che lastly Aileen Dang as Editor. At th have started planning a way to sea Coordinators and our Fundraising
Kipp King Key club took part in the Night Market event (May 26th) hosted by our school’s affinity group. The night market was a way to showcase Asian, African & Latinx culture through music, language, food and cultural games. Key Club had a station where we sold boba. More than 180 people attended ( Friends, families, students and other guests). Our station was also successful. and we made a lot of profit. We were able to host our very sales event as new officers. We are extremely grateful to all those who came and supported us and also to the amazing officers who put the work and effort into planning these stations.
On May 24, San Lorenzo Key Club helped out in the San Lorenzo Manor Science Fair. When we arrived, we immediately got to choose our stations and started setting up. Some of the stations we worked on were ‘Bridge Building.’ Where they would build bridges out of material that was available like tape or paper, they would then test the strength by putting a box of pennies on top, which was pretty heavy. When the science fair ended we all helped clean up the stations. I think I can say for us all that it was a fun experience and that some of us had fun here as well!

On Tuesday, May 15th, Alameda Key Club held a “Color a Smile” service event as part of a meeting. Key Clubbers colored in joyful drawings for people in need of a smile. There were many participants, with each one adding their own personal touches and creativity to make amazing end results. It was great to know that all their hard work would benefit the community. We hope to have many events like this in the future!
