Nia Griffith MP says the Gwendraeth Valley needs Investment too

Minister for Regeneration visits the area

I invited the Deputy Minister for Regeneration to visit the Gwendraeth Valley and discuss what additional support could Alun Davies AM, Nia Griffith MP, Dave Gilbert CCC, Cllr Clive be given to the area. As Scourfield and Leighton Andrews AM, the Assembly Government’s part of the visit, the Deputy Minister for Regeneration. Minister accompanied me to meet staff at Filsol Ltd, in Ponthenri. Filsol has led the way in developing solar panel technology and I congratulate them for winning high profile contracts and securing the jobs of workers in the valley. We also had a very constructive meeting with the Gwendraeth Transition Energy Group who presented some very exciting ideas for generating power locally and the challenge must now be to make these plans a reality for the benefit of all in the Gwendraeth valley. Burger Van success After backing Mal Evans’ campaign to keep his burger van at the Co-op car park and talking to the Co-op management, I am delighted that he will be allowed to continue to rent his pitch there.

Welsh name for Cross Hands This is not just a matter of a name, but a matter of pride in our heritage and making the most of local legends to encourage tourists to stop and visit nearby attractions, bringing trade to the area, rather than just driving through.

Nia Griffith MP, Alun Davis AM and Leighton Andrews AM listening to the Gwendraeth Transition Energy Group.

Cross Hands roundabout I am continuing to campaign for part-time lights on the roundabout at Cross Hands.
