Mary Crow’s newest investigation reveals dark secrets of stolen innocence
With the rise of a homophobic preacher and an anti-gay killing in Campbell County, North Carolina, recently appointed governor’s special prosecutor Mary Crow is asked to investigate a possible conspiracy between the preacher and the murder.
When Mary is about to leave, an eleven-year-old boy named Chase shows up at her office door. He wants her to find his missing teenage sister, Samantha, but the evidence indicates a runaway rather than a kidnapping case, and Mary regretfully dismisses it. But then she uncovers information about Campbell County’s infamous Highway 74, where people have either disappeared or been killed, including Samantha. Mary’s search leads her to a deadly sextrafficking ring, and she may be the next victim.
