About the Author
Dr. Linda Backman, EdD, licensed psychologist, has been in private practice since 1978. Dr. Backman is the author of Bringing Your Soul to Light: Healing Through Past Lives and the Time Between (Llewellyn, 2009) and The Evolving Soul: Spiritual Healing Through Past Life Exploration (Llewellyn, 2014). She also has graduate education and training in the fields of speech pathology, audiology, and special education. After experiencing the premature birth and death of her second child, Dr. Backman discovered the great need for more psychotherapists who are trained and devoted to working with those in grief. She cofounded an ongoing agency in Charlotte, North Carolina, dedicated to serving individuals and families who have experienced the death of children. Introduction Does intelligent life exist only on Earth? There was a time in my professional life as a psychologist and regression therapist when I gave minimal thought to whether intelligent life occurred beyond Earth. In principle, the idea of interplanetary (IP) life seemed plausible. Without a breadth of understanding of why IP souls, with their gifts and challenges, would incarnate on Earth, I was unable to consider myself sufficiently knowledgeable to teach about IPs. My first two books, Bringing Your Soul to Light and The Evolving Soul, offer a broad grasp of soul evolution, past lives, karma, dharma, life planning, and more. Souls on Earth includes an expansive understanding of how and why souls progress. At the same time, this new book narrows the focus to the idiosyncrasies and purposeful embodiment of souls on Earth who have extensive interplanetary experience. Along with my twenty-four years of experience guiding past-life and between-lives soul regressions (and forty years as a psychologist), the past twelve to fifteen years have provided me with hundreds of clients who have journeyed to their soul’s home base and past lives outside of Earth’s spiritual realm. My comprehension of the whys and wherefores of IP souls has increased exponentially. This ever-burgeoning client data gave me the impetus to compile material that validates the Earth incarnation of IPs and explains their purposeful existence. One cardinal rule of my work is that I never provide the soul regression content for my client. The client describes out loud the details they are receiving during the regression session. As you read the specific client discoveries in this book, keep in mind that it took me time to accept the

ever-growing IP soul understanding and corroborating specifics. You may have the same experience as you read. When an IP soul embodies on Earth, frequently there are distinct challenges that can be small or rather large mountains to climb. Are You or Is Someone Close to You an IP?
Determining whether you or someone you know is an IP soul isn’t an exact science, yet there are distinct characteristics that will cause you to lean in the direction of suspecting or believing that you’ve made an accurate assessment. As you move through this book, chapter by chapter, you’ll gain a more precise sense of the indicators of an IP soul. To make identifying an IP easier, consider the following list of signs. Please remember that none of the singular characteristics presented here automatically connotes an IP soul. Earth is to cooperate as an egalitarian culture. At crucial junctures in humanity’s evolution, IP souls have come in greater numbers. Earth is now at a pivotal point, with the opportunity to advance as a culture. With a high degree of evolution, IP souls are here now and must be understood, accepted, and supported. If you’re spiritually oriented toward and interested in reincarnation, soul evolution, past lives, and interplanetary existence, this provocative content has the potential to impact you and transform humanity. Imagine a football field with grass from one end zone to the other. The astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson tells us that the fourteen-billionyear history of Earth, from cavemen until now, would fit on just one blade of grass. Tyson describes recent evidence suggesting that “shortly after the formation of our solar system, Mars was wet, and perhaps fertile, even before Earth was.” 1 It’s conceivable that Mars seeded life on Earth, a process known as “panspermia.” It would seem rather ethnocentric if humans believed that life has existed only on our planet. As I studied regression hypnotherapy in the early 1990s, particularly the works of authors whose information had come spontaneously out of the mouths of clients, I discovered a new understanding of soul existence. Multiple clients revealed a soul history that included non-Earth lives. I began to formulate a new conceptual framework of soul evolution. Little did I know that years later I would have a sizable repository of my own research of interplanetary experience gathered through direct client regression accounts. From this point forward, I will use the term IP soul to describe the reality of interplanetary life. For a time, I resisted the clear-cut acceptance of purposeful life elsewhere in the universe because of my linear orientation and educational background as a psychologist. The following client-regression account is just one example of what led me to embrace what I now believe is the truth: there is life elsewhere.

It’s 2000 BCE. My guides tell me that I’ve asked to relive this life now. They say that I’ll learn now by discovering what they’re about to reveal in this past existence. I’ve asked to know. They say that I must hang in there. We know this current life on Earth isn’t easy, they tell me. It’s very windy in the past life. I’m standing in the desert on what look like dunes. I’m a man with a turban on my head, and something holds the fabric on my head. I’m in a village, standing on the periphery on some street, just watching the people go by. I see children laughing and playing. They can’t see me because I live at a different vibration. I can go through walls. I’m not from this planet. I get to visit to see if I want to incarnate here. Could I handle it, being stuck on the ground for many years? My throat feels weird because people breathe air here. Plus, I must eat solid food, which I’m not used to doing. I come from a place called Ektron. I ask my guides to find me the holy place here. It’s a dirt floor with a small kneeler. There’s so much pain here. These people, they toil and struggle and try to make things of beauty. I feel their pain and hurt. I don’t know this emotional piece, where I’m from. How do they endure it? They are trapped. The purpose for me, if I decide to come to live in body on Earth, is to experience emotion. Feelings of any sort are particular to Earth and the human species. I love sensing the dirt under my feet, which causes me to feel uplifted. I love that about the Earth. The dirt is cool and has a raw texture. On Earth the sun rises and goes down. Change just keeps happening. Cathy, my client, scheduled a between-lives soul regression for numerous reasons. For one, she had dealt with alcoholism for many years, struggling to remain sober. In addition, she wanted to understand and strengthen her minimal adaptability to the various challenging relationship and work issues in her life. Cathy had left her marriage of many years only to find an unexpected new love, who then died at age sixty,

following their brief yet wondrous relationship. Cathy described this new man in her life as dying because “his body was tired.” The task at hand for the soul known as Cathy in life today was to experience human emotion and not become stuck or controlled by such strong feelings. She was to acutely feel the power of grief, while integrating such intensity for greater wholeness. Subsequently, Cathy began to teach others to honor their feelings without allowing pain to block their transformation. As an IP soul embodied on Earth, Cathy was to share her IP wisdom of operating primarily from logic, awareness, and intuition. By coming into an Earth body, she had the opportunity to gain a balance of thought and feeling—and move beyond being held captive by her emotions. IP souls are unique, gifted, and evolved. IP souls incarnate on Earth for the purpose of aiding humanity’s evolution. IP souls lack familiarity with the human body and way of life. IP souls are challenged by the lifestyle of many Earthlings, which includes an unhealthy diet, flawed judgment, self-serving actions, marginalizing behaviors, and more. Why do IP souls agree to come to Earth? IP souls bring the advanced evolution and wisdom of their celestial home to Earth. Frequently we misjudge and do not support embodied IP souls simply because we don’t understand their uniqueness. Rather than celebrate and benefit from the perspective these evolved IP souls intentionally bring into our awareness, we mislabel and sometimes even ostracize them. Through the multitude of client regression accounts included here, you’ll discover the characteristics of IP souls. This information can help you identify and accept yourself as an IP, rather than believing that you’re inadequate or a misfit in our human culture. I wish I could fully describe what an opportunity it is to sit in the room during a soul regression session and witness the spontaneous descriptions that are my privilege and honor to hear. Still, as the therapist, I breathe a sigh of relief knowing that it is not my job to interpret the elements of past-life experience to the client or determine their significance, nor do I have the ability to do so. The therapist is responsible for guiding the session, but the content is provided by a higher level of wisdom, by the client’s team of spirit guides and teachers. The information is received by and through the client, using their intuition combined with an altered state of consciousness. Thus, the client essentially becomes their own channel or conduit for their higher self, or soul self. As such, the substance of the session is not the responsibility of the hypnotherapist. Though an altered state of

consciousness is induced, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, so the client is always in control of the process. Having the ability to receive intuitively and describe the details of lives one has lived before is an awesome experience for the client. So is the gift of receiving soul-level input relative to who and what we are and are intended to be. Many scientists believe we use the right temporal lobe of our brain to resonate with energy fields that are timeless, that we have the ability to use our human brain to access timeless, spaceless reality, which quantum physicists label as the “non-local.” Still, it is difficult, if not impossible, to explain the literal and energetic mechanics involved in accessing soul memory, both in past lives and between lives. In essence, lessening the arousal or stimulation of our brain through regression hypnotherapy creates an altered state of consciousness that affords an opening to our intuitive or mystical processes. The slower our brain wave activity, the more able we are to recognize or intuit the specifics of the past, when our soul resided in another body or in a discarnate state. In both past-life soul regression and betweenlives soul regression, the process used to access these memories is a form of hypnosis. Hypnosis itself is about brain wave shift, also labeled an altered state of consciousness or a trance. The appendix describes the soul regression training program that I teach. When I began guiding soul regression clients in 1993, I knew in theory that souls incarnated both on Earth and elsewhere. I understood that souls incarnate for the sake of individual evolution as well as humanity’s growth. During the first ten years of guiding regression clients, I worked periodically with an interplanetary-soul client. Then I began to work with numerous clients whose intuitive regression content revealed they were an interplanetary soul. Throughout this book, just as it happened for me, you will gain a clear understanding of the gifts, purpose, and liabilities of being an incarnate interplanetary soul. You’ll gain a clear sense of the distinctions between Earth-based (EB) and interplanetary (IP) souls. Now, take note of the components of this interplanetary (IP) client’s regression.

Joanna: Supporting Younger Siblings with Calmness My clients’ soul regression content repeatedly reveals that the Earth and the universe are evolving in real time. As each of us moves through our current life, we can advance Earth’s way of life as well as progress life in the universe. Joanna is a client who describes the untroubled existence at her IP home base. Joanna’s current life intention is to give rise to calm on Earth, as opposed to fear. I’m inside and alone where I am now. In the larger space where I am, I’m not alone. I’m female, with long, chestnut brown hair and waterproof skin. We do not communicate through speech. We use telepathy. We can change shape for what we need to be because we visit other worlds and need to blend in with others. I’m standing in a type of vehicle, and all around me is transparent material, like I’m in an observatory. I can see below me through what seems like lucite. We’re a family with a male and a female child. We go to places to energetically calm and dissipate strong negative emotions. We do this in crowds that are too volatile and emotional. We send out energy. Right now we’re on an Earth-like planet. Then there’s somebody who can see us, our true selves. He tries to change us because he’s angry. He wanted to be one of us. He must grow more as a soul before he can embrace the intention to calm others. We are at peace, and he is tormented. So we leave and go home, where we feel free. We are not sad because we know that home is untroubled. We went to the other celestial location and attempted to create tranquility, but this didn’t work. I keep being told that the Earth is too volatile and needs to calm down. Now it’s wonderful to be at home and see our friends and family. Home is serene, with vivid, rich colors. There’s peace here with no effort, no competition. We see the good in everyone. There’s no jealousy; everyone is equal. All of us do what we’re good at.

The one who tried to harm us, he’s one of us from my home base. He wanted inequality. He wanted to be more than the others. He’s like a throwback to an earlier time of evolution when even my home base didn’t treat everyone equally. I’m from a reality that is not physical with density. Right now, there are many on Earth from my home base. We are all here to hold Earth together. The energies are spiking, but not in a good way. People are afraid; we need to calm them down. Fear is winning. That’s not how it’s supposed to be. Now I’m with my soul mate at my home reality. He feels like home because together we are truly whole. We are purposeful and even more powerful when we’re together because of the love we feel. He does not go to Earth since it hurts him too much. I can handle it better. He sends a little piece of himself with me to Earth. This is a tiny piece so that we have a cord that connects us. I’ve been protecting that piece of him inside of me. I use it as an excuse rather than shining. He’s like my baby. I protect him in some ways, but he’s also one of my guides. I call him Zeke In my life on Earth, when I was little I just hurt so much. As a soul, I had agreed to be a support for my younger brothers and sisters. In my life now, I’m supposed to calm people with my energy. I ask, how can I do that when I’m not calm? I simply need to send positive, joyful energy that will calm everybody. My busy brain and the literal heaviness of my body often create a block to sending out useful energy. I do have a healthy sense of being a responsible person. Zeke is holding my face and recharging me. My core soul color is mostly white, with fiery gold on the edges—sort of like veins of gold. Zeke is just holding me now. He tells me to put one foot in front of the other. I am to open my heart and find joy. I am to use my hands and not be afraid to touch people who agree to receive the energy and the healing. Also, I am to go deeper on my own and use the pulsing energy of my hands to send out white light that is healing for the planet. Zeke tells me that I’m not carrying out my agreement sufficiently

at my location on the planet. My abilities are not to be learned but are innate. This is my agreement that I must honor, to assist life on Earth. Joanna’s regression provides an example of the meaning of core soul color. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a soul just beginning your journey from lifetime to lifetime or are mid-range and beyond; you are always in need of greater awareness. The details I learn about each client during the pre-regression interview shed light on the client’s soul evolution. Most regression clients are mid-range and beyond, because a rather young soul would be unlikely to take the time to undergo or have an interest in soul regression. Based on about 10,000 soul regressions, I’ve found that a client’s level of soul evolution is indicated by the color of their core soul energy during the regression. Our soul’s path is unending, as each soul, humanity, and the greater universe seek elevation. To simplify, our purpose for incarnating is to become a guide and a teacher in spirit. Soul energy is a light frequency perceived as color and gradually shifts through the colors of the rainbows as we advance. From your first incarnation, your frequency of divine light called soul begins a profound climb toward higher wisdom. During a soul regression, the client can sense their soul’s color, or frequency. There is nothing better or worse about where you are in your soul evolution. Just as with school, we must complete first grade before second, and so forth. The following chart lays out the soul scale, comprising steps along our progress in soulship. Though each of our soul journeys is unique, it can take hundreds of lives or more than a thousand lives to reach the degree of soul progress of blue and beyond, where we have sufficient acumen to serve as a spirit guide. Joanna’s regression is one example of client details that I began to witness in my work about fifteen years ago. Joanna has five younger siblings. Her mother died rather young, and it became her task to care for her brothers and sisters. Joanna’s role with her siblings has been to support their ability to be calm as they move through the ups and downs of daily living. In addition, she is to use her energetic ability to decrease fear on Earth. When a client is supported by their guides to assist life on Earth, per their soul agreement, they frequently are emboldened to honor their commitment. Joanna has never felt that she fit into everyday society, because she senses that many people are too self-focused. IP souls tend to be highly sensitive to the pain and trauma on Earth, where people are treated unequally. Zeke, Joanna’s guide, was unable to cope with the style of interaction on Earth. IPs often struggle with embodiment on Earth more than EBs do because of the discrimination and lack of respect for one another in human society. As you move through this book, I ask you to be prepared to absorb details about my IP soul clients, including their soul agreements, soul home bases, and current life circumstances.
The Soul: Premise and Promise
The soul’s reason for being has a premise, or purpose, as well as a promise, or vow. First, what is the soul? At a high level of vibratory frequency that we often label as God, the Source, Great Spirit, or the Tao, there is a divine wellspring from which souls emanate. Yet it’s likely that our human mind is incapable of truly comprehending or explaining the emergence of our core being. I suggest to you, the reader, that absolutely nothing in the universe is perfect. Each soul is created with the ability to advance life. The premise and the vow of each and every soul are for our actions to generate advancement or evolution. It is simply due to our literal behavior that life proceeds in the direction of one for all and all for one. The Source gifts us with free will while simultaneously imploring us to utilize, rather than abuse, our ability to take action. It is through the choices we make, both as individuals and in community, that life can reach greater degrees of healthiness. A productive or healthy life can

be boiled down to respect and caring for all living elements, including people, animals, and the environment. The issue is this: Our world’s population continues to struggle. More and more we are accepting the notion that each of us must embrace the commitment to step up and alter our ailing culture of war, environmental concerns, and the denigration of specific groups of people based on supposed differences.
The Premise: Each of Us Has Purpose
Not all is lost when we realize that life is purposeful. My soul regression clients receive intuitive guidance for themselves and teach me how the Earth can advance through the soul agreements we sign on to. The act of being born signifies that your soul has consented to a new incarnation, intending to climb your ongoing “learning ladder.” From a global perspective, you’ve also committed to contribute to the advancement of our planetary culture. Literal actions in life are observed by your spirit guides and demonstrate your dedication to humanity’s needs. To sum it up, each of us arrives on Earth with a twofold evolutionary purpose: to progress our individual soul and to holistically advance life on Earth. This is a tall order yet is doable. Each of us is responsible for the pre-birth agreement that our soul self made prior to our birth in life today. Two additional points are critical. First, in our Earth embodiment, free will is always an option. We can choose to follow our soul commitments or not. Second, our higher self, in collaboration with our guides, may create extensions to our life contract. When such augmentations occur, our guides view us as having satisfied our original pre-birth commitments. Pressure may be placed on us to accomplish even more because of an intensifying need on Earth.
The Misunderstanding: Perfection Exists in the Higher Realm
The greater your soul’s evolution, the more that is expected of you from the higher sphere. Often your life challenges become more of an uphill climb, with an expanded opportunity for both individual soul evolution

and evolution of the Earth. Your soul self has agreed to aid humanity and the universal consciousness. I am often asked, “Linda, if the soul is perfect, then why do we need to incarnate repeatedly?” Having listened to countless spirit guides in client regression sessions, I find my answer to be rather easy. Most of us were taught, either through Western religion or from our parents, the dualistic perspective that we are lowly beings here on Earth and the divine realm orchestrates all the details of our lives. But perfection in the universe is an illusion. Various religious and spiritual paths teach that an idyllic source of energy resides at a higher frequency. We seek a label, such as “God,” in our attempt to grasp an elevated reality beyond the capacity of our human brain. Graduated levels of vibration exist above the Earth’s surface, yet a “destination” where the highest energetic purity exists is either a myth or is outside of our human awareness. As souls gain wisdom through ongoing evolution, simultaneously the higher sphere and the universe transform progressively without end. The point is that there is no finite and flawless highest dimension. Our spirit guides lead those of us in body to evolve, and our ongoing commitment to evolve and our actions serve to elevate the intelligent beings in the unseen realm. The universe of dense celestial bodies and inter-dimensional space expands through the actions of souls. Thus, each of us is implored to continue our life’s journey to transmute karma (past-life missteps) and achieve dharma (this-life intentions) from lifetime to lifetime.
Karma and Dharma
Why do we incarnate, anyway? The answer is simple though not simplistic. Given that the purpose of the universe is solely and “soul-y” for the sake of evolution, you now know why we incarnate: to evolve. Let’s not make the subject of souls and evolution more complex than it is. The basics are karma and dharma. Soul embodiment means we have a full range of choice about our actions. Day by day, in our human lives, we achieve our aims and we can fall short. Achieving something demonstrates following our pre-birth soul plan, or perhaps accomplishing more than our initial soul agreement. Such accomplishment is labeled dharma.

As we might say, “We’re human.” By this I mean we make useful, progressive choices or not. As humans, we have the intelligence to opt for the highest action or not. Our guides observe us, but we are not their puppets on a string. Each of us pulls our own strings to create our behavior. We hope that our performance is beneficial. Karma refers to the missteps that all of us make.
Creation of Earth: Seeding of Souls
Scientists have calculated the age of the Earth and our solar system to be approximately 4.5 billion years, with the Milky Way and the universe more than 13 billion years old. Modern intelligent humans appeared on Earth only 200,000 years ago. Prior to humanity’s existence, the Earth had to cool. Then non-intelligent life appeared, followed by aquatic and four-legged life. Prehistoric civilizations are surprisingly recent relative to the age of our celestial bodies. Numerous soul regression clients have revealed how intelligent embodiment on Earth was established. After the initial cooling of Earth, life forms evolved over hundreds of thousands of years. Earth’s very gradual development led to Homo sapiens, whose soul energy evolved over millennia. Early on, aquatic, single-celled life on Earth was the first step. Clients describe the original animating soul energy of Homo sapiens to be at a relatively early stage of evolution. Once human progress reached the level of Homo sapiens, the seeding of souls from non-Earth locations outside our solar system began. Interplanetary (IP) souls brought a higher degree of advancement to Earth. These IP souls could animate a Homo sapien body in order to make a difference in the progress of Earth’s culture. Soul regression clients repeatedly validate that more advanced IPs entered our human world, bringing the progressed lifestyle of their home culture. Though it’s impossible to measure the degree of evolution of these early inhabitants of Earth, suffice it to say that these souls came to expand the consciousness of the Earth as well as to continue their own individual growth. These IP souls who arrived to inhabit a Homo sapien body about 50,000 years ago had previously achieved a moderate degree of evolution elsewhere. Given the premise that the advancement of the entire universe is an ongoing process, when rational life was established on

Earth, the development of morality and relationship became a slowly advancing task. The point is that the soul embodiment and lifestyle on Earth early on was rather basic, not requiring the high degree of evolution necessary for cultural sophistication. IP souls brought a wisdom of life not previously experienced by the indigenous Homo sapien souls. About 40,000 years ago, Cro-Magnon man, the earliest known Homo sapien, moved from the Near East to Europe as early intelligent civilization progressed from simplicity to expanding complexity. In the beginning, life was basic, tied to food and shelter. The caves at Lascaux in southwestern France, with their Paleolithic wall paintings of animals, humans, and symbols, are a well-known example of early life. Knowledge of such indigenous, shamanic cultures also suggests prehistoric star charts and spirituality tied to visions during trance dancing. Based on client descriptions, the civilization of Atlantis is valid as a progressive culture of scientific and technological advancement. Yet this evolved civilization disappeared because of conflict, imbalance, and what could be termed “self-absorption.” Atlantis was populated by many IP souls who came to catapult humanity’s progress. The souls in Atlantis came from a celestial society focused purely on left-brained knowledge. Science and engineering, without a balance of right-brained emotion, proved to be untenable on Earth. Basically, the crystal reactor created by Atlanteans led to an implosion, disintegrating the culture. Earth’s way of life, past and present, continues to struggle, lacking a balance of all people’s needs.
IP Souls: Wisdom from Outside of Earth
Are the IP souls on our planet today different from the earliest IPs? The simple answer is yes. To explain, let’s begin with one basic understanding: embodied IPs today are more advanced than those at the advent of their Earth emergence. In the last 50,000 years, non-Earth cultures have progressed. In addition, IP souls have embodied on Earth, gaining a modest ability to adapt to the dramatically different physicality and way of life here. IPs have embodied on Earth a small number of times, in the range of one to one hundred incarnations.

Two additional distinctions exist when we compare early IPs on Earth with current IPs. Today’s IPs emanate from within and outside of our solar system. Over the past 50,000 years, life forms on some celestial bodies within Earth’s solar system have attained more advanced levels of evolution than those on Earth. To be clear, when IP souls originally came to Earth, all celestial locations in our solar system were in the elementary stages of development. IP life progress varies from location to location. IPs on Earth now emanate from our solar system and beyond. Lastly, in the early era of embodied life on Earth, IPs could materialize in an adult body, followed by dematerializing. IP souls didn’t have to be “born” as a baby from a mother’s womb. Today’s IPs on Earth arrive as newborn infants only. Madeline’s soul regression example provides a window into the challenge of an IP stepping into an Earth body.
Madeline: Learning to Fully Inhabit an Earth Body I’m outside in a village. It’s daytime and the structures are made of stone. I’m wearing sandals, a shift-type garment that’s onepiece made of rough material. I’m a very young child with darker skin, and I don’t speak a language. I’m just stuck there. Nothing is familiar here, and I simply observe. Now it’s later; I’m about five years old. There are many children in my house with much activity. I don’t stand out. I feel disconnected and in the way. Now it’s the last day of my life. It feels a bit like an earthquake. Everything is shaking; stones are falling. I’m separated from a female figure. People are scared; there’s confusion. Everything is just breaking apart. I die. There’s no feeling and no sorrow attached to this life. This was a very brief existence. I have no sense of loss. It’s so much easier now to return to spirit than to inhabit a body. It feels more comfortable. There was something about being out of touch being in that child’s body. I’m in a rush to get back home. My friends are with me now where I come from; we’re like fellow travelers coming

home from a summer vacation. They’re happy to see me. All of us had different experiences. I didn’t enjoy mine. I wasn’t suited to that kind of experience. I didn’t know how to fully inhabit a body. My friends did better with this than I did. We all work together, but I’m not ready for that yet. There’s some decompression that needs to happen. I don’t think I was very successful. These are not just friends that I’m with now that the decompression is over. There are three beings that are higher than the five or six of us friends. The three are more like educators, and they have beings higher than them. This is a tiered system. My mentor arrives who’s not a boss but a type of educator and support being. I’m told, “You did fine.” This mentor has flowing, translucent energy that is calm and has a high vibration. My friends are more like puppies compared to these higher beings, like my mentor. I have a similar energy as my mentor, but I’m not as powerful. I’m more purple-violet rather than pure white. I’m told that I’m being too hard on myself. I’m just not experienced yet in that kind of physical, human realm. I feel kind of young since I’m not yet up to the level to cope with Earth life. I’m sort of an “egghead,” having spent much time studying but not experiencing being incarnate on Earth. I’ve experienced life on other planes, but not what those on Earth do, like getting married and having children. This hasn’t been my path. My mentor has male energy and tells me that I could be called an IP soul. My mentor says I’m not lacking in skills; I’ve just spent my time other than on Earth. My mentor is like a spirit guide. He tells me that there are other planes of existence that are in-between fully physical and fully spiritual. Some are very hedonistic; some are very ascetic. It’s almost like there’s a spiritual aspect to pleasure. I spent time there and learned to surrender, and that pleasure is okay. My core nature is very studious. Still, I must learn to appreciate pleasure. It was so hard to focus on a human past life; it was hard to embed into the scene. In my life today it’s been hard to be totally

engaged in my physical form. A part of me always feels like I’m still at my soul home. I brought 50 percent of my soul energy into my body of today. Most of my lives have not been on Earth. I do know people in my life today with whom I’ve shared nonEarth lives. Madeline states: “I’m not yet up to the level to cope with Earth life.” Embodying on Earth is a challenge, particularly for souls who either have never been on Earth or have been here a small number of times, such as between five and fifty. Madeline points out the significant challenges for IPs to function within a human body and to adapt to the lifestyle on Earth. Why is life on Earth so challenging? You may already know, but to name one factor, on Earth many people do not live from the belief that we’re one for all. We judge one another, hoard what we have rather than share, and live for ourselves rather than for our human community. Sadly, humans often believe this: “My skin color is better, my religious beliefs are better, my lifestyle is better, and what I have is mine.” Do most incarnate souls on Earth live from the perspective that all of us jointly “own” the resources of our planet? For some, the purpose of coming here is to understand the perspective that some label the “global commons,” meaning humanity shares in the wealth and the responsibility to care for the earth, air, and water of our planet. Next, my client Eve, who lives in a forested area near a US metropolitan center, explains her life goals and tribulations.
Eve: Earth Life as Training to Let Go of Warring When a soul comes to Earth, you can get your heart broken by the nature of Earth life. I’m happiest in the forest. Most of my lives have not been on Earth. I must go through this barbaric training on Earth to gain and hold compassion for these souls who are rough. To let go of my repugnance for the behavior of war, I must walk among these souls and observe how they operate on Earth. I am guided by many light beings that come from various places in the universe. It takes great strength to be on Earth right

now. I need guidance and will have that when I close my eyes and hear my guides’ voices. I am in many bodies across the universe. I sense an IP body with large eyes where I’m embodied elsewhere. Here in my Earth body I serve as a guardian of the Earth. I’m told that I must not take on the broken heart of humanity and the Earth itself. This will cause me to feel chest pain in my human body. I am to amplify the light I bring to Earth. I am not to judge others on Earth, but to have compassion for them. Finally, drinking water regularly will assist me to not take on the painful energy of many who are on Earth. Though it is not easy for me to maintain my embodiment on Earth, I’ve agreed to stay and hold my vibration here. I must consecrate my sacred space on Earth where I live. This will help to ground me. The behavior of souls on Earth can be tough, as Eve describes. Humans lean in the direction of judging one another. Equality is not the norm taught on Earth.
Humanity’s Broken Heart: Earth Based and IP Planetary Evolution
The celestial body on which we live is struggling to progress. Earth is greatly in need of ongoing soul evolution that honors all people. Both our planet and the human bodies that we inhabit must be cared for with the proper treatment and nutrients, or “illness” will prevail. A lengthy litany of painfully needed human progress would fill an entire book. Suffice it to say that the wisdom of IP souls is one potential antidote for what ails humanity. I believe it is fair to assume that if you are reading this book, either you’re a soul who has reached, at the very least, a moderate degree of soul evolution through repetitive Earth-based (EB) lives, or you’re an IP soul bringing your advanced evolution to Earth. It does not matter whether you’re an EB or an IP soul so long as you accept two things: (1) you are likely more aware than the majority of humanity how life must improve on Earth, and (2) it is your soul’s commitment to choose action that is intended to aid Earth’s progress.

EBs and IPs often interrelate and resonate with one another since they view life from a similar vantage point. In my previous books I focused primarily on EB souls. The purpose of the book you are reading now is to help understand and support IPs. It’s critical that we honor the wisdom and uniqueness of IP souls. Once intelligent life had progressed beyond a primitive stage, IPs incarnated on Earth approximately 50,000 years ago. These IP souls came to evolve the morality and integrity of humanity. Over the course of human history, the number of IPs has expanded and then contracted. Greater numbers of IP souls arrive on Earth during periods of time when the dysfunction on Earth has increased and/or the window of opportunity for change exists. Presently, we are in a time of increased numbers of embodied IPs, both as adults and as children. IP souls frequently struggle to cope with life on our planet. Here are a few examples of how extraplanetary life is commonly lived, distinct from the more unevolved lifestyle on Earth: • All communication is direct, clear, and telepathic. • Environmental needs are handled properly. • Caring emotion is the hallmark. • Decisions are made based on logic rather than emotions used to manipulate. • All souls are respected, without judgment. • A healthy body structure and brain align with IP soul needs. • Nutrition is suited to the needs of the IP body type. • Relationships are caring and honest.
IP Adaptation to Human Life
IP souls on Earth are the minority of the minority. Evolved souls (both IP and EB) who value a healthy lifestyle make up approximately 5 to 7 percent of the Earth’s population, and IPs on Earth constitute 2 to 3 percent of that. You may say to yourself, “Well, that’s not a very large number of IPs that are here now.” The point is that IPs hold great wisdom and are more needed on Earth than words can easily express.

The next client detail is from Tanya, a sixty-year-old woman who’s always been more comfortable around animals than humans. Tanya has always been deeply fascinated with extraplanetary life and knows she’s different from many people. Her human relationships have been complicated. Physical issues such as migraine headaches frequently plague Tanya. IP souls often struggle with diet, allergies, and environmental toxins. Tanya arrived for her soul regression feeling on the edge of understanding who she is at a deeper level.
Tanya: Born an EB and Transitioned to an IP Soul at Eleven Months of Age My guide, Elijah, says I’m a “walk-in.” Elijah says he put me in this current body when I was a very young child. Some souls can’t take being in the body. They don’t want to be there anymore. My body had an original soul that was there for many months. It was no longer needed and chose to leave when my body was eleven months old. It was planned that the original soul would leave at a time when it was necessary. At this time, there is a primary soul that inhabits my body. The primary soul now is an IP soul. She is frequently influenced by Earth-based souls who assist me to function more effectively on Earth. The original soul that animated my body was an EB. I’m told that my extreme closeness to animals is because as an IP soul I have a similar purity of intention as animals. The energy and intention are very pure where my soul comes from. I’m told that I don’t understand why other people are not like me. I am different because of being an IP soul. As an IP soul, I come from a culture that is much healthier than much of the Earth’s way of life. Tanya’s communication with her guide is a potent example of the problematic, perhaps onerous, adaptation required for an IP soul to enter and operate within a human body and within humanity’s culture. This soul regression demonstrates how, at times, an infant enters life at

birth animated by an EB soul in order for the young child to acclimate to humanity’s manner of functioning, like when two parents utilize a surrogate, without the use of their own egg and sperm, to bring a child into the world. In this case, the EB soul served as the surrogate for Tanya’s IP soul to arrive on Earth in a human body. This example is a walk-in, and is quite rare, happening in less than 1 percent of all births, as explained by more than one of my clients. The critical need for an IP soul to come to Earth sometimes must be managed through complex means. Shifting from the embodiment of an EB soul to an IP soul generally occurs at an early age. Less common is an IP soul who arrives at birth and discovers the challenge of Earth life to be overly complex and thus is replaced by an EB soul. All decisions about whether and when a walk-in would occur are determined in the spiritual realm by one’s higher self and guides. An IP soul finds life on Earth and in a human body to be foreign. As an analogy, consider if you were an American and had lived all your life in a small rural, pristine community and never traveled. Suddenly you’re plucked from your home environment and plopped down into a busy Chinese city. You don’t know the language or the customs, and the diet is distinctly spicy and strange to you. IP souls, particularly those who’ve had very few Earth lives, struggle to find a place of comfort, acceptance, and belonging among others.
Earth Wounds of Selfishness and Greed: Needed Transformation
As humans, we’ve each agreed to be on Earth now. IPs are a gift to the planet. They agree to arrive in our currently burdensome planetary culture that, sadly, demonstrates greed and selfishness. IPs have profound gifts and a life perspective that many others do not manifest, as evidenced by Leonard’s revelations in his soul regression.
Leonard: Releasing and Transforming the Heat of Past-Life Trauma I’m outside in a town, and I’m not alone. I feel I’m at a Renaissance fair. I have big pointed shoes made of wood, with a ball at

the tip. I am wearing loose, flowing knickers that are bound under the knee with stockings. My pants are blue, white, and black, with stripes. I have a light, loose cotton top that is raggedy, with long sleeves. I’m a man with dark hair that looks like a wizard. I have hairy, triangular eyebrows and a black pointed beard. I’m not evillooking. I have a scarf-like thing around my neck and am in my fifties. There are little retail wagons with scarves and material. It’s just bustling with happy people. There are cobblestones and dirt, like a carnival. I have a crystal ball and am enticing people with things I say to make them come over to me so I can read their fortune. I like talking loud to get people to come over to me. Many people just go on by. They look at me with my dark features and seem to be put off. They don’t see the sweetness in me. Now a heavyset lady with a big hat decides to sit down. I feel that she is sort of a lost soul that wants to know more. I look into my crystal ball and see things, like she wants to get married and have a baby but feels self-conscious. I feel I’m there to help her and give her a sense of well-being. I’m letting her know she has a purpose and try to calm her. She needs to feel the love in her heart. All this woman seems to care about is getting married. All I can do is reassure her. I didn’t hug her; she just gets up and leaves. Now I must sit and center myself. I see the table in front of me, with a purple velvet cloth with gold fringe. I realize that I feel drained. People perceive me as evil and don’t see my good heart. The hairiness puts people off. I deal with this in my current life. I feel misunderstood both in life today and in this past life. The whole concept of being a fortune teller, sort of like a wizard, makes me very unsure of myself. I live alone in a tower. It’s a cold stone environment. I’m so high up there and feel trapped. I love people but don’t know how to go out in the world to be of service. The room is all stone and barren. I just sit there and cry.

Now I’m at a temple, a place of worship, that is white, with lots of arches. I sit silently on the cobblestone floor, cross-legged. There are many of us, all in white clothing. Now my hair is graywhite. I feel calm but still alone. Many sit with their friends or family, but I sit alone. I feel at peace. The birds sing outside and the air is very crisp. I’m ready for the end of my life. I die peacefully in my sleep, feeling that my purpose was not adequately served. I tried to share my gift and knowledge, but my work was not accepted. I did help a few people but could’ve helped many more. Yet I found a place of consolation in my meditation. Now my essence steps out of his body and merges with the air. I leave through the window. I’ve merged into particles that are one with the atmosphere. You can go anywhere just by thinking about it. I look down on the village, where there are the little carts that are becoming just a speck. It’s all so minuscule and insignificant. I’m happy and love where I am now. I’m in awe of everything, from the mountains to the blue ocean to the coral reefs to the waterfalls. I’m having fun just being like an atom moving everywhere. I’m taken to outer space. It’s for sure my home. There’s an atmosphere with blue sky and green trees. It’s peaceful and cohesive and synergistic. People get along here. I sort of resemble a human but have some alien characteristics. I’m paler, with an opalesque kind of face. People have cloths around their heads— loose, flowing natural material. In this land people are not fearful. There’s a high vibration, with no upset or judgment and no desire for more material goods. You don’t ever have to raise your voice here because there’s harmony. In life today, if a child spills something it’s just, “Uh-oh.” I’m a married female with kids here. People are happy with nature, birds, butterflies, and each other. I’m told this is a place within the Earth’s solar system. In this life, I am very seldom in a place of anger or upset feelings, like at my home base.

Now I’m feeling hot and nauseous because I struggle knowing that we need world peace on Earth. I’m not content to just be okay with the way life is on Earth. The selfishness and greed on Earth break my heart. My guide, an older Chinese man like Confucius, is here. He tells me that I know in my heart that I’m on Earth now to help raise the vibration. Without a doubt, it’s not an easy task. Now I’m feeling like I need to purge. This happens for me when I have my “night sweats,” because it’s difficult for me to be on Earth. The intense sweats are a way of letting go of energy and trauma. My guide tells me that I was burned as a heretic in a past life. When the heat comes up in me now, I need to transform by getting the heat out of me. My essence is still being held where I was burned at the stake. I must release the heat. My guide says I need to use the heat in my hands to heal others. As I do this, I help myself too. I must serve others, and this will release the pain of the past life. I know all of this, but I just don’t trust. I’ve trained in so many types of healing with my hands, but it drains me. I give too much of myself away. I should meditate to maintain my own energy. I am told that I must eat a pure diet of healthy protein, fruits, and vegetables. Improving my diet will help me to be in body now and provide the healing I agreed to offer.
In Summary
Welcome to Leonard’s world, both past and present. In the past life, this soul had capable intuitive abilities to serve as a healer. People came to him for direction and to gain a deeper understanding of their lives. Like the woman whom Leonard assisted in his past life, I often have clients who feel they are flawed because they don’t have a life partner. Leonard attempted to help this woman believe she had purpose in life and was worthy of being loved. Earth’s way of life suggests there’s something wrong with us if we don’t have a romantic partner, and if we have a human appearance and skills that aren’t like most people, others often perceive there to be something wrong or frightening about us. mon for IP souls to feel misunderstood in life today. Does this sound familiar to you? Leonard’s past life, along with his current life skills and challenges, present a crystal-clear example of an IP soul. If you are an IP or you interact regularly with an IP, I implore you to accept what IPs face in their everyday lives. Leonard, in lives past and today, must be true to himself. He is sensitive to the emotions and energy of others. The pastlife trauma of being burned as a heretic can be let go of. At the same time, my client is to honor his spiritual competence and accept that he’s different as an IP soul. Leonard’s core soul energy in life today mirrors his IP home, where no judgment or anger exists. I invite you to honor souls from elsewhere who have come to Earth now. Please embrace their purity and what IPs offer to all of us. Leonard demonstrates that IP souls are highly unique and sensitive—and are in body today with a profound intent to shepherd and direct Earth’s culture forward. Human consciousness can and will elevate through our literal actions. This is the soul contract we’ve agreed to at this moment in time. You are enough, and you have a sufficient ability to assist Earth to evolve, whether you are an EB or an IP. In the next chapter, you’ll learn about the various life purposes of IP souls.
