magick and psychic ability in the same manner. The four come together to create a genuine conversation with the Universe, one in which we are co-creating in sovereignty and service.

In the Witches’ Rede, the advice is given “soft of eye and light of touch, speak ye little, listen much.” This passage seems to be saying to try not to be judgmental of or harsh toward others, to be gentle in your actions, and listen more than you speak. Perhaps that is precisely what it means and all it means. Upon meditating on this passage, though, I’ve gained other insights on it. For me, this passage is also about a balanced approach to psychic ability (the soft gaze used when looking at energy or scrying) and magick (the touching and manipulating of subtle energy) for the witch’s path of mastery. It’s about consciously listening more than speaking in our conversation with the Universe. Of course, this is only my interpretation, and “Rede” simply means advice. However, I find merit in this interpretation. That is why most of the spells and magick within this book are aimed at the psychic arts in one way or another, to deepen our connection to the Universe around us, seen and unseen, and to come to know our True Will and our role we play in the intricate web of existence.

As a follow-up to Psychic Witch, I will continue to share my understanding, knowledge, experience, insights, practices, meditations, and spells. Know that these are my personal approaches and understandings, not necessarily those of every witch or magickal practitioner. Find what resonates with you and incorporate it into your practices; modify and adjust them; make them reflect your spiritual path, your relationship with magick, and your connection to the world of spirit. Find which key practices really speak to you and discern whether these are to be integrated as daily, weekly, monthly, or seasonal practices for you. It is my hope that through sharing how I approach magick, I will inspire you to begin formulating your own magickal practice or to incorporate new approaches to your already existing practice, and, of course, to become more proficient at casting spells that work.

In some ways, I am not so very different today from that little boy who wandered into that metaphysical shop all those years ago. I hungered for knowledge about the occult and the powers of the Universe. I devoured books, practiced spells, and experimented with my powers whenever I had the opportunity. I am constantly learning and growing, and I am hopeful

that I always will be. When I look back on my life, I can see that my ravenous appetite for knowledge has been the guiding force; it has brought me to where I am today, and I have no doubts it will continue to do so. This pull toward magick is a familiar feeling among most witches in their lives, whether they acted upon it early or late in life. If you’re reading this book, then you most likely have this pull toward it as well.

I often compare the path of mastering magick to that of a hungry caterpillar. Eventually, there comes a time when the simple accumulation of knowledge and training isn’t sufficient on its own. You must begin applying all that knowledge you’ve gained into practice, spinning and weaving it like a silk cocoon around yourself and focusing inward. In doing so, your view of yourself, others, and the world begins to completely flip, like the Hanged Man card in the tarot, suspended like a moth cocoon that dangles as an ornament on the World Tree. Witchcraft is an inherently transformative practice, but just like the caterpillar within the cocoon, it is a process that is an entirely solitary experience and unique for each person. I hope to provide a solid enough foundation to help you weave your own practice of spellcrafting and spellcasting in hopes that you will embark on the transformational process to unlock the mastery of magick within your own life, guided by the subtle and sacred moonlight of your intuition.

HOW TO USE THIS BOOK •

Teaching magick and spellcrafting in a way that will set you up for proficient results while also touching the Mysteries is an overwhelming task, particularly because a lot of the concepts that we learn can’t be taught in a linear manner. In the way our secular education is set up, we learn in a progressive manner: we start with a simple concept and build from there. Occultism is a field where you’re continually returning to previous concepts and ideas and finding new layers of depth and understanding as you progress, experience, and learn more on the path. While occult understanding definitely does build on itself as you progress, there’s a constant return to the foundational concepts and practices, which take on new meaning when revisited; this changes one’s understanding of ideas that may have once seemed basic.

This was also my biggest obstacle with Psychic Witch: how to teach these things in a linear manner as much as possible, without going back and forth. With this book, it’s a bit more difficult than it was with Psychic Witch. I’ve decided to stick with the primary process that I teach in Psychic Witch, and which I employ in my personal practice. This uses the seven planes of reality, and the Three Souls, Three Worlds, and Three Cauldrons. As we rise through the planes of reality throughout this book, I’ll be teaching aspects of spellcrafting and spellcasting through that framework. That means that the first time you go through this book you may be casting a spell, but after going through it a second time you will be equipped with even more tools and knowledge to re-cast the same spell with even more proficiency.
