Took classes on campus Summer 2012 I loved summer classes. They were different than your typical semester classes, but in a good way. Classes were smaller so you got a lot more one-on-one attention with the professors. It was a much more laid back atmosphere and was less – I don’t want to say strict because it was still a classroom setting – but it was less structured and everyone was really friendly. Paticipant in 2012 Faculty-led study abroad Tianjin Summer Program I learned that I need to be more outgoing. Sometimes I was afraid to talk to people because I was afraid I wouldn’t speak the language very well at all. You learn so much more and you get so much more out of the program if you are willing to go up and talk to strangers. It gets easier with practice. MiamiOH.edu/Summer Paticipant in 2012 Summer Scholars Program It was probably one of the best things that happened to me at Miami. For one, it really broadened my horizons. I was exposed to so much more that I would have ever been. Also, I got to work with Dr. McKenna, and having that one-on-one time was really nice – I got so much guidance. Our discussions were really helpful – I feel like I got a crash course in philosophy and science. Elisabeth Colucci Classical Humanities, Senior, Dayton, Ohio
