Dear Friends, Over the past year, we have seen firsthand the importance of a team that is adaptable, supportive and compassionate. I am so grateful that at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital we have done just that. During the peak of the pandemic, our pediatric clinicians were able to quickly mobilize and assist on adult units as needed. We also cared for over 160 adult patients, ranging from ages 18 to 84, in the children’s hospital. We are grateful to our healthcare heroes for their dedication to provide the highest quality patient care even in the most trying circumstances. Despite the strain of the pandemic, our teams have remained committed to patient safety and quality and have been recognized for both. Last June, LLU Children’s Hospital achieved the prestigious Magnet Designation for nursing excellence and was one of the first hospitals to accomplish this virtually due to the pandemic. In addition to this designation, LLU Children’s Hospital was recognized as a Best Maternity Care Hospital by Newsweek and the Leapfrog Group, and was ranked by U.S. News & World Report among best in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery. Your support enables us to make great strides in expanding access to care for children spanning from the Temecula to Coachella valleys. And while growth continues at our off-site locations, we are thrilled to share that as of August,
our new Children’s Hospital Tower is now open! The new tower features all private patient rooms, a dedicated pediatric emergency department and the San Manuel Maternity Pavilion. Our teams look forward to continuing to provide exceptional patient-centered care in this new space. Thank you for your support that has made our Campus Transformation Project a reality. It is because of you that we can continue to keep the mothers and children of the Inland Empire healing, healthy and happy.
