THIS WEEK Having swept Gonzaga earlier this week, LMU will look to keep momentum when it travels to Portland for a Saturday match at Noon ... following this week's action, LMU will return home to host San Francisco and Santa Clara to start a string of four home matches to finish the regular season. LION TRACKS Senior Jamie Lea connected for 11 kills on 13 errorless attacks to register an .846 hitting percentage, as the LMU volleyball team hit .398 en route to sweeping Gonzaga by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 on Thursday ... Lea’s 11 kills were tied for the team lead with Sascha Dominique, who also registered 11 on 16 attacks for a .625 hitting percentage ... Dominique teamed the kills with an ace, two block solos and two block assists ... freshman setter Jessie Prichard set the attack to the third-best clip this year, dishing out 30 assists to accompany nine digs ... Emmy Allen led all players in kills for Gonzaga, registering 15 on 31 attacks with just two errors for a .419 hitting percentage ... the Lions hit better than .350 in each of the three sets, including a blistering .483 in the opener that featured six Lea kills on seven attacks ... after posting just one kill in the second, Lea posted four kills on as many swings in the finale to help LMU erase an early deficit set deficit and earn the sweep ... LMU’s best blocking set of the match came in the second, as the Lions posted four blocks, including a solo each from Dominique and Erin Williams. FIFTH SET WINS ARE ELUSIVE With 10/27's setback at the hands of Pacific, the Lions are now 0-5 in five-set matches this year, including having dropped a pair after winning the first two sets (9/27 vs. #6 San Diego; 10/27 vs. Pacific) ... in addition, LMU was up 2-1 in two of the other three losses ... all five of the losses have come in WCC play, with two coming against Pacific ... LMU is also 0-3 in five-set matches played at home.
