THIS WEEK LMU will look to keep momentum this week, traveling to Gonzaga and Portland for a pair of matches ... the Lions will meet the Bulldogs on Thursday at 6 p.m. before LMU travels to Portland for a Saturday match at Noon ... following this week's action, LMU will return home to host San Francisco and Santa Clara to start a string of four home matches to finish the regular season. LION TRACKS Looking to snap a three-match losing streak, LMU volleyball served up nine aces against Saint Mary’s en route to capturing a 2519, 25-10, 25-18 victory over the Gaels from Gersten Pavilion on Saturday afternoon ... Kekai Whitford and Savannah Slattery, who notched four and three aces, respectively, bolstered LMU’s serving success ... Sarah Sponcil added two of her own, teaming that mark with six kills and a match-best 12 digs ... the nine aces are the second-best mark for the Lions this year ... Jessie Prichard set the Lion attack to a .259 clip, teaming four kills with 22 assists and nine digs ... defensively, LMU limited the Gaels to just -.040 hitting, with the only positive hitting percentage coming in the first (.154) ... Sascha Dominique had her hand in both sides of the match, as she connected for nine kills on 18 swings while also registering three block assists ... Dominique’s best set came in the first, as she opened the match with seven kills on 11 attacks ... LMU also registered four aces in the first, including three from Slattery. FIFTH SET WINS ARE ELUSIVE With 10/27's setback at the hands of Pacific, the Lions are now 0-5 in five-set matches this year, including having dropped a pair after winning the first two sets (9/27 vs. #6 San Diego; 10/27 vs. Pacific) ... in addition, LMU was up 2-1 in two of the other three losses ... all five of the losses have come in WCC play, with two coming against Pacific ... LMU is also 0-3 in five-set matches played at home ...
