ON TAP LMU is home in Gersten Pavilion for the final time in 2013-14 on Saturday, hosting BYU in a 2 p.m. tilt. The Cougars and Lions meet for the second straight year on LMU’s senior day. All six seniors competing in Saturday’s game will be honored in a pregame ceremony, including the Lion quartet of Hazel Ramirez, Mackenzie Kerins, Alexis Love and Melinda Gomez.

LIONS’ LAST LINE Hazel Ramirez added LMU all-time assist leader to her name with her second helper of the night, recorded her third straight double-double performance. But the Lions had no answer for San Diego’s Amy Kame in the second half as the Toreros pulled away in an 87-74 final Wednesday night in Gersten Pavilion. Ramirez finished the night with 17 points and 10 assists for her sixth double-double of the year. Johnson led the Lions with a career-high 26 points and Emily Ben-Jumbo chipped in 11. After shooting just 1-for-5 from the field for two points in the first half, Kame finished with a game-high 31 on 10-of-14 from the field and 11-of-12 from the free-throw line. LMU trailed 40-36 at the half before San Diego would score the first four points of the second, opening back up an eight-point advantage. With the Lions trailing 59-53 with 8:44 to go, Kame would score eight straight for the Toreros, opening up a 12-point advantage with 5:57 to play. She went on to score 12 of USD’s final 13 points, not allowing the Lions to get closer than eight points down the stretch.
