SETBACK IN PORTLAND The Lions suffered a disappointing setback at Portland on Thursday, falling 84-66 to the Pilots in the Chiles Center. LMU could not overcome the Pilots’ hot shooting night (58 percent, including 73.7 percent in the first half), while managing to shoot just 31.6 percent from the field themselves. Hazel Ramirez led LMU with 21 points and six assists while Mackenzie Kerins tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and an LMU record 25 rebounds. REBOUNDING RECORD Senior forward Mackenzie Kerins made the most of her final appearance in her home state, setting a school record for rebounds in a game on Thursday at Portland. The Eugene, Ore., native, hauled down 25 rebounds, including 15 on the offensive glass, besting her previous high by 12. The 25 boards is just the second 20-plus rebound performance in school history, besting the previous single-game record of 20, set by Miki Graf against Cal Poly on Dec. 13, 1991. FINDING THEIR STRIDE Over the first 15 games of the season, the Lions averaged 66.3 points while shooting 36.6 percent from
