LIONS’ LAST LINE The Lions took care of business Thursday with an 88-74 win at Santa Clara. Four players scored in double figures to combat a career night by the Broncos’ Nici Gilday and pull away from a tightly played first half for the 14-point victory. LMU was led by Hazel Ramirez’s 21-point effort. Deanna Johnson had 18 while Leslie Lopez-Wood matched her career high with 18 points, including four threes. Mackenzie Kerins chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. Gilday finished with a career-high 40 points. RAMIREZ CAPTURES FINAL ASSIST RECORD Already the owner of LMU’s single-game (12) and single-season (175 and counting) assist records, Hazel Ramirez added career assist record holder to her name on Feb. 19 against San Diego. With her second assist of the night, Ramirez eclipsed Marlee Webb’s school record of 441, set from 1993-96. Ramirez finished the game with 10 assists, and has added 11 more since, bringing her career total to 461 with at least two games remaining in her collegiate career.
