LMU men’s basketball will have a quick turnaround in the 2013 Ezybonds Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, taking on Marist in the second day of action, Saturday, Nov. 23 at 11:30 am PT (3:30 pm AST). The Lions began a six-game, month long road trip with a 90-81 setback against Northern Iowa just 24 hours earlier. The game can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM and online through LMULions.com. The first meeting between the schools occurred on Dec. 28, 1988, a 131-107 home win at Gersten Pavilion that remains the highest-scoring game in Marist program history. The Lions also recorded an 84-80 victory on the road on Jan. 2, 1992.

INSIDE THE LIONS • LMU dropped their first game of the season, 90-81, to Northern Iowa in the first game of the Paradise Jam. The Lions are 4-1 on the season, equalling the best start since 2006-07. Senior Anthony Ireland led the Lions with his 32nd game with 20 or more points, scoring 24 thanks to 9-forAll games listed Atlantic Standard Time. It ranks tied for 18th for points in a game by a freshman at LMU. Fellow freshman Gabe Levin went for double figures once again, making him the only freshman to start his career with five straight double figure games. In addition, he added 14 rebounds for his second straight double-double. He had 15 points and 10 rebounds against NAU. He is the first freshman in LMU history to go for back-to-back double-doubles and his 14 boards tied Kenny Hotopp for second all-time for rebounds in a game by a freshman.
