After a thrilling 74-73 come-from-behind win over Long Beach State on Thursday, LMU (3-0) returns to Gersten Pavilion for a quick one-game stop for their home opener on Sunday, Nov. 17 against Northern Arizona (1-2) at 4 pm. The Lions will play nine of their first 10 games on the road, and after the home opener, will play the remaining six games over the next month on the road. THE MATCH-UP LMU’s home opener is Alumni Family Day at the Game with a pregame tailgate for all families begins at 2 pm, followed the Lions taking on the Lumberjacks for the 10th time in program history at 4 pm. During the game, LMU will honor the LMU men’s soccer team who claimed the 2013 WCC Championship Friday night with a 1-0 win over Santa Clara. As for the game, the Lions lead the series 7-2 thanks to a 92-86 win in overtime at NAU on Dec. 5, 2012 (see box score and story on page 5). Northern Arizona is 1-2 on the season after falling to USC in a close one on Friday night, 67-63. INSIDE THE LIONS • The Lions erased a five-point deficit in the final minute, scoring the final six points of the game to earn a 74-73 come-from-behind win over Long Beach State on Thursday to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2003-04 season. The Lions snap an 11-game skid on the road dating back to Nov. 17, 2012 in a 76-73 win over CSU Bakersfield. Nine of the Lions’ first 10 games to start the season are away from home. • Four Lions had double figures, led by freshman Evan Payne with 16 of his 18 points off the bench in the second half. Through three games, four Lions average double figures, led by senior Anthony Ireland and sophomore Ben Dickinson with 16.0 ppg. Freshman Gave Levin is averaging 14.3 per game while Payne moved his average to 10.3 per game. Ireland, Dickinson and Levin have had double figures all three games this season, making Levin the first freshman in LMU history to start his career with three straight double figure games. • The Lions had three 20-point scorers in the win over South Dakota St., the first time that has happened since the record-setting LMU-USIU game on Jan. 5, 1991. Dickinson had 22 points while Ireland and Levin had 20 points each. The last time it happened, the Lions set the NCAA record for points in a 186-140 win. Five Lions went for more than 20 points (Terrell Lowery - 34, Richard Petruska - 28, Chris Knight - 27, Rahim Harris - 24, Ross Richardson - 24).

• Anthony Ireland continues to set marks for the Lions. He set a career-best with 12 assists in earning his fifth career double-double against South Dakota State. He added 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win over the 49ers. With 48 points, 18 assists and five steals to start the season, Ireland continues to climb his way up the career record, sitting 8th all-time with 1,624 points, 7th with 402 assists and 9th with 152 steals.
