THESIS: CONNECT! HIGH SCHOOL OF THE VISUAL ARTS Project Type: Education Spring 2013
Connect! High School, a co-educational high school for students grades 10-12, gives students the opportunity to learn alongside other artists their age and be in an environment that encourages collaboration in all aspects of their education. Inspired by the kinetic and dynamic nature of kaleidoscopes, Connect! creates a unique and inspirational experience for the developing student artist. This colorful world is full of movement and discovery.
STAIR DIAGRAM The heart of the school’s concept lies in the stair. On each floor of Connect!, the glass enclosed stair rotates 20 degrees, to create a new view on each floor. 1ST FLOOR

HAVEN HOTEL: EXECUTIVE SUITE Project Type: Hospitality Fall 2012
SLEEPING AREA
The concept for Haven Hotel’s executive suite is a “modern tree house”, referencing the mangrove forests in the area. Guests in this suite will experience a sense of loftiness and protection, similar to being a tree house.

HAVEN HOTEL: PUBLIC SPACES Project Type: Hospitality Fall 2012
During the founding of modern Singapore, mangrove trees made up a large amount of the island’s forestry. In times of need, the trees are used as a haven by both humans and animals. Haven Hotel is a place where guests can come and experience an environment that evokes both being deep in the mangrove forest and in the canopy of the trees

SYCAMORE HOUSE Project Type: Institutional Summer 2012
This project was a healthcare facility focusing on a certain disease or disability. Sycamore House is an outpatient drug rehabilitation facility dedicated to private therapy and group socialization. My main goal was to create an open, light-filled space, where the patients could be easily monitored while still feeling a sense of independence and freedom.

05 STUDY ABROAD: PRAGUE & VIENNA Summer 2012
During the Summer of 2012, I received a full academic scholarship to study for two weeks in Prague and Vienna on the New York School of Interior Design’s study abroad trip. I kept a sketchbook journal during the trip and tried to record as many things as I could that caught my eye. It was an invaluable learning experience that helped me appreciate the history and architecture of both of these beautiful cities.
06 INTERNSHIP Spring 2013
During my spring internship, I was given several responsibilities, including assisting with construction documents, creating test fits, space planning, putting together presentations, furniture selection and rendering elevations.
