Halo 4

Gamers have been waiting four years to step back into the metallic boots of The Master Chief, supersoldier and savior of the galaxy, and from the first few minutes, those patient gamers won’t be disappointed. Halo 4 is set on Requiem, a planet constructed by the Forerunners, the ancient beings responsible for the iconic Halo rings seen in all the games. The

Covenant returns as well, but they are joined by an ancient evil:The Forerunners have returned, awakening from their eon-long slumber. The Forerunners take the form of the Prometheans, which are divided into three enemy types, the Crawler, Watcher, and the Knight. The Artificial Intelligence (AI’s) for these enemies are incredible to say the least, exhibiting teamwork that I have not seen in previous games. The campaign is where this game really shines, following the return of the Forerunners, bent on destruction of humanity, and the degradation of your constant holographic companion Cortana, who has reached the end of her 8-year technological lifespan. The only thing that I would suggest for a com-

Kicking off this holiday season, Dreamworks Pictures has released “The Rise of the Guardians,” a children’s holiday film centered around the mystical legends that we all believed in as children, such as North, Guardian of Wonder (Santa Claus) portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Tooth, Guardian of Memories (The Tooth Fairy) portrayed by Isla Fisher, Bunnymund, Guardian of Hope, (Easter Bunny) portrayed by Hugh Jackman, and Jack Frost, a carefree boy who wishes nothing but to plete experience is reading into other Halo media, spread winter throughout the Earth. of Bunker Hill. Even though the story line is the most prominent part of the game, there are several side missions and the game itself is free realm. Along with the single player, AC3 supports an amazing online multiplayer option which lets you face off against other people in an all out brawl. Even though this is the fifth game in the franchise, it does not decrease in excitement. I feel this is the best Assassin’s Creed so far, and is definitely

worth the $60.00. If you are thinking about adding this game to your collection, I suggest you purchase it at a local Gamestop because it is one of the places you can get one of many extra missions, The Ancient Mayan Ruins. The game is highly rated. too: 88.23% by GameRankings, and 85/100 by Metacritic. Overall, this game is all that is awesome and a must buy.

her personality and use it to create the perfect way to ask her out. “He gave me a pink rose,” said Junior Brickley Biondi. “My boyfriend asked me out with balloons and I loved it,” said Junior Jordan Duran. After accomplishing the task of getting the girl, next comes treating her like the only girl in the world. The rest of it is up to you.

With the blizzards and snow storms rolling in, people have started putting the booty shorts and bro tanks away and pulling out the sweaters covered in mothballs. Around Conifer, a new trend has arisen out of the ground and has been brought back from the dead: thrift store sweaters. “I love walking out of the house in a baggy sweater and some leggings,” said Junior Destiny Wilde. The sweaters aren’t strictly a girl thing; boys can rock a comfy sweater with a pair of jeans. There are multiple thrift stores to discover the remains of people’s lives with their choice in clothing that could now be yours. Colorado is home to hundreds of thrift stores to rummage through. Their prices aren’t only cheap but they have some good quality clothing. Other trends roaming around are ugg/winter boots. Sophomore Demitra Biddle says, “I think ugg boots are comfy.” Ugg boots are very expensive, but knock offs can be found at Walmart for cheaper. Many people buy their winter boots during the summer when the prices are low and

the fresh ones right out of the shoebox are on display. Sophomore Cameron Pytko said, “I really like beanies, but I don’t really wear them to school a lot. They are warm for when it’s cold outside and it feels nice on my ears.” Every year Conifer gets trendier. The neon colors are showing through along with the varsity jackets, leg warmers, and scarves. The old vintage clothes are the new styles at Conifer.

Reporters Have you ever been too nervous to approach the girl of your dreams and ask her on a date? If you have, this is going to give you tips to boost your confidence and get it done! First, you have to let the girl know that you are even interested in her. There are a few ways to reassure a girl that you actually like her. As a guy you can make eye contact more than a friend would or make small talk with her. Smile more than anything when she is around. It lets her know that you enjoy her company. “Just come up to them and say hi,” said Freshman Zach Smith. Second, keep your friendship with her casual, and ask to hang out with her on a friendly level. Keep the conversation light and don’t scare her off with too much pressure. Third, asking her on a date is the actual scary part. You could ask her in a more original way or do something personal. A girl always loves to know when you have actually been listening to what she is saying. Take what you know about

Art... a highly influential part in many high schooler’s lives. For some students, it’s a way to get away from the rest of the high school world. Some stick to painting, drawing, photography or sculpting; however, the teachers that help instruct the students art’s, have started teaching something a little more unique. What is this new skill? Well, wax art of course. Mrs. Stewart was inspired to learn the skill saying, “It was so much different than any other kind of painting.” The art she has messed around with is on canvas where it’s similar to painting, but with beeswax instead of oil or acrylic paint. Ms. Maher and Mrs. Stewart are allowing the new skill to advanced art students (including photography students, as well). If this seems interesting, contact Mrs. Stewart in Room 209 with more information.
