In Christianity, the number 7 is very apparent, signaling not only the beginning, but the end. The Bible begins with 7 days of creation and ends with 7 bowls of destruction.
the seven bowls of destruction First Bowl
***
When the first bowl is poured out, foul and painful sores come upon those bearing the mark of the beast and those who worshiped the image of the beast.
Second Bowl When the second bowl is poured out, the seas and the oceans become blood as of a dead man, forcing everything in the sea to die.
Third Bowl When the third bowl is poured out, the rivers and the remaining sources of water turn to blood. The angels then begin praising God’s holy judgements.
Fourth Bowl When the fourth bowl is poured out, the sun causes a major heatwave to scorch the planet with fire. The incorrigible wicked refuse to repent while they blaspheme the name of God.
Fifth Bowl When the fifth bowl is poured out, a thick darkness overwhelms the kingdom of the beast. The wicked continue to stubbornly defame the name of God while refusing to repent and glorify God.
Sixth Bowl When the sixth bowl is poured out, the great river Euphrates dries up so that the kings of the east might cross to be prepared to battle. Three unclean spirits with the appearance of frogs come out of the mouths of the beast and the false prophet. These demonic like spirits work Satanic miracles to gather the nations of the world to battle against the forces of good during the Battle of Armageddon. Jesus warns those still alive during the Tribulation that his coming will come like a thief in the night, urging his followers to stay alert.
Seventh Bowl When the seventh bowl is poured out, a global earthquake causes the cities of the world to collapse. Mountains and islands are removed from their foundations. Giant hailstones weighing nearly 100 pounds plummet onto the planet. The plagues will be so severe that the wicked’s hatred against God intensifies while the incorrigible continue to curse God.

In Islam apocaly the apocalypse pse and is of two the min or apoc types: t he ma jor alypse.
the major apocalypse The major apocalypse corresponds to inward struggle, or the “greater battle against the self.” “The self” is composed of the ego, pride, greed, envy, and other negative diseases of the heart that act as veils separating man from truth. The goal in the spiritual life is to negate one’s self and to remove the veils, ultimately uncovering the truth or one’s true Self. Hence, major apocalyptic events tend to vary from person to person; for instance, a person’s struggle against an illness, or the necessity to control a certain desire. The possibilities of what constitutes a major apocalypse are endless and constantly recurring, since man is constantly struggling to gain self-knowledge.

The minor apocalypse, or the “lesser battle,” is considered a minor event precisely due to its outward nature. In this light, the minor apocalypse is a series of external events of which the Armageddon is but one event. The Armageddon, nonetheless, possesses the greater significance in the realm of the external because it links the entire human race, irrespective of religion. And similar to the major apocalypse, the minor apocalypse is also recurring; hence, the two eventually intersect.
With the above in mind, Islamic traditions identify the Armageddon with a time of great external and internal decadence and give numerous signs indicating its nearness, including the spread of greed, hatred, and jealousy. It is important to note that man is ultimately responsible for creating Armageddon. This fact is heavily stressed by the Prophet Muhammad. The exact timing of this event is unknown; the Qur’an states, “Knowledge of the hour is strictly with God.” Islam is a religion of the moment, because the past is over, and the future is yet to arrive. This leaves only the present, and if the present is good, one prevents a horrible future. From this standpoint, the exact timing of Armageddon is irrelevant. Islamic lore also speaks of the second arrival of Jesus, the release of a monster, and a deadly smoke, but such events are of no concern at the level of the individual and are of minimal importance in the “greater battle.”
