Symptoms of heart attack

Symptoms of a heart attack are not the same for everyone and thus it is possible to miss that a person has a heart attack. The patient himself might not know that he has had a heart attack.
Symptoms of heart attack
Aheart attack might weaken the pumping capacity of the heart. This can cause breathlessness while walking, and jogging and with time the patient might even find themselves breathless while sitting.

Aheart attack will cause a scar on the heart and this abnormal tissue can cause an abnormal heart beats leading to ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation. Without treatment, it can even lead to the death of the patient.
Heart attacks can weaken the partition between the left and right chambers.
Weakening of the interventricular septum might progress to its rupture. This can happen 2-3 days after a heart attack. Without surgery, the patient has a 100% mortality rate.

If the supporting apparatus of the mitral valve does not get enough blood because of the heart attack, it can cause blood leakage to the lower chamber of the heart. This can lead to heart failure.
When the pumping capacity of the heart reduces, it can lead the blood to stagnate which in turn can cause blood clots. Blood clots can sometimes travel through the blood and reach other parts of the body. If it reaches the brain, it can lead to stroke.

Hence it is important to treat heart attacks, even if they are not major. If you experience even the mildest symptoms, make sure to consult with the cardiology doctor.
