IMAGINE

TOMORROW A Case for Supporting our Community Endowment Campaign

DREAMS DON’T WORK

WITHOUT

YOU !! OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $500,000 FOR THE COMMUNITY FUND BY 2020. JUST IMAGINE WHAT ANNUAL DISTRIBUTIONS FROM $500,000 WILL DO IN OUR COMMUNITY!

WE’VE COMPLETED SOME

AWESOME PROJECTS Since 2010, approximately

$36,000 has been granted for many exciting

projects such as support & grant requests for the St. Johns Community Spray Park, life vests for Cub Scouts, Maple River Watershed quality support, new youth soccer ďŹ elds on Townsend Road, Wilson Center Auditorium renovations and most recently, support for the new Festival of Lights, a place making event direct from local citizen initiative. The funding comes from our endowment earnings and fundraising activities.

SAFE, SECURE AND PROTECTED Donations to the endowment are invested to provide a permanent stream of distributions for our community while having the potential to increase in value over the years.

In 2010, we chose Capital Region Community Foundation to be the custodian of our endowment. CRCF is the Community Foundation for

Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties. Our community’s Endowment is part of more than $87 million entrusted to CRFC by Tri-County donors and agencies as a home for their endowment funds. We are especially proud our endowment is rigidly protected by contract and professionally managed by our premier community foundation with broad goals matching our own. It is most important to feel our endowment is safe and properly managed. WE DO!

OUR VISION

Together, we must grow and use our endowment fund to become a voice for positive change in our community, working with the individuals, groups and government agencies on projects that will make our community vibrant. Could empty buildings become inviting housing overlooking rails to trails? Could we design a food truck park? Can we ensure all kids are reading ready for school? What are the innovative projects we can bring to St. Johns to enrich and enhance our community?

WHAT ARE YOUR IDEAS?

we receive 4% of our endowment fund’s average balance to use in our community (currently about $2000 annually).

Our goal is to raise $500,000 for the community fund by 2020. Fund directors have already pledged more than $50,000 in personal donations over the next four years and challenge others in the community to join them.
