Hitched Kasey and Bryan's Story Written by Kasey Fisher Photo by Megan Dandeles Photography
Our Story
Kasey and Bryan On the morning of the 18th, Kasey woke up early to make Bryan breakfast for his 24th birthday. She gave him the presents she bought (since he was bugging her all week for them) and asked if he liked them. He told her yea, but he “still wanted one thing” and Kasey went on to say that was all she got him. Over the next few hours, they decided to head to Bryan’s parents to visit their dogs, Jake and Ryleigh. Being that Kasey is a nervous person, she thought she forgot to unplug the iron. Bryan was a little annoyed at this, but that is a normal routine in their lives. Kasey went back down to their apartment only to find the iron unplugged. Meanwhile, Bryan, his twin, Ryan, and his dad were alone talking about what was going to happen that day. When Kasey got back to the Farley’s, Bryan asked Kasey if she wanted to take the dogs for a walk. Of course, since his birthday should be all about him, she agreed. They packed up the dogs and headed out for Beltzville. The ride to Beltzville was not fun. There was construction everywhere, typical for a Saturday morning. When they finally got to Beltzville, they got the dogs out and headed out to a walking trail. The dogs loved being outside in the sun! They met up with another couple, who began following them throughout this trail. Finally, Bryan told Kasey they were going on a different path to be alone. They ended up walking hand in hand along the lake with Jake and Ryleigh trotting behind them. It was a perfect day. Bryan led Kasey and the pups through a patch of woods, in which they got stuck with “hitchhikers” from the bushes--and the dogs too! They stood and peeled off big, prickly stickers from their own clothes as well as the poor little dog bodies. Despite their efforts, Jake and Ryleigh still kept itching. Kasey finally said that they had to go because the dogs did not like this walk. All of a sudden, Bryan yells to Kasey that Jake had something on him and he couldn’t get it off. Kasey kept telling him just to rip the thing off,

like we’ve been doing (she thought it was from the sticker bushes). He insisted that Jake was hurt and he couldn’t fix the pup by himself. Kasey hastily scooped Ryleigh up, huffed and puffed, and walked toward Bryan, who was kneeling with Jake (Kasey’s favorite dog). She tried to feel Jake but did not feel anything. That’s when Bryan brought out the beautiful engagement ring and asked his girl to marry him. She was shocked, looked at it, told him to “shut up” and then started hugging and crying on his shoulder. She said yes and they hugged for a long time with the two dogs at their feet. It was the most perfect engagement because it was just right for this couple, so comfortable with each other. It fit both of their personalities. Bryan told Kasey, his only wish that he wanted for his birthday was for his girl to say “yes” -- and she had no problem doing that!! :) Later in the day, while having their first of many champagne toasts, someone said, “Here’s to…finally!” to which twin brother Ryan replied, “How about to FOREVER!” They are so excited to begin planning for the day that will seal forever.

If one were asked to portray a fairytale wedding, it would be hard to do without remembering the Stroudsmoor Country Inn if you had been there before. Stroudsmoor’s staff has turned event planning into fine art, by turning what could be a daunting nightmare into a highly personalized and calm creative process. In short, the Inn’s seasoned experts are there to blueprint and lay the groundwork for you. The Stroudsmoor Inn’s personal bakery, dubbed Stroudsmoor Inn Towne, is right around the corner – where all of the wedding and special event cakes are designed and made on the premises. There are several flavors and variations to pick from, which is why the Inn hosts special tasting events to site-searching couples twice a year. This gives couples a chance to experience the options available to them. And last but certainly not least, are the flowers. These may be the last detail but are the principle element of your event’s presentation. The colors, sounds, and surroundings at your wedding should be treated like all of our dearest dreams; as if they are priceless. For this reason, all floral projects are managed with attention and loving care by none other than the owners of the resort, the Pirone family. By taking advantage of Stroudsmoor’s professional planning services, they can unlock a door of options and guide you through the process. From a selection of five breathtaking and unique venues, there is one with an appropriate atmosphere and layout suited to your needs. For information about amenities, tastings, and other offerings, call 570.421.6431.

We asked our readers
How did he pop the question? Kelly Camillo says Jason and I had known each other for about a year but were only dating for about 4 months. He lived in Florida but I was here in Pennsylvania. He bought a car from my grandpa and we were going to drive it back to Florida together. He flew up and asked me to wear a special t-shirt so he knew who I was since it had been a couple months since he saw me. My Grandpa and I were there to pick him up from the airport and while we were waiting for his plane, a flight attendant came up to me with a single rose and said it was from Jason. He's sweet like that so I didn't thik anything of it. Then they opened the doors for the passengers to come off the plane... then each person came off with one single rose and handed it to me as they went their way (but they all stayed to watch). By the time all the passengers came off I had 6 dozen roses and Jason was the last one off with a RING! He propossed in front of everyone, including my Grandpa with his arms crossed and a grumpy look!! (he met Jason only 1 time and now he was proposing to his little girl!) lol My reply was not a "YES" it was an "Uh Huh" and a head nod! That was 11 years ago! We were spiritually married 2 months later, October 13, 1999 and then had a "real" wedding on October 13, 2000. We are still happily together even after living and working together 24 hours a day 7 days a week! (I must be crazy!) The engagement was on August 13th 1999. We only got one picture because our camera broke! I wonder if anyone who was there and took pictures or video would be willing to share.
Nancy Matthews says I was 7 months pregnant. We weren't married, but living together. And you know how swollen you get when you're pregnant, especially at the end? My husband came into the kitchen with an engagement ring and "officially" proposed with the line: "If this ring fits, then we were meant to be, if it doesn't, then I guess we weren't." So I said "What size is it?" "A 6 1/2" I said "I'm an 8 when I'm not pregnant! It's not going to fit." Then he proceeded to slip it right onto my ring finger without a single hesitation. I have never before, or since, worn a 6 1/2. We just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary.
