STROME TM FABRIC INTERIOR COLLECTION

Lochcarron of Scotland has been creating and making tartans in the Scottish Borders for over 70 year. Originally made for traditional kilts and Scottish gifts our fabrics have found favour in fashion collections, gift ranges and more recently furnishing and interior markets.

With super performance characteristics and made from pure new wool they are ideal for many interior settings from upholstery to soft furnishings, for domestic and contract purposes. Relevant performance standards are available.

Tartan crosses many boundaries, often considered traditional and classic it also finds favour in contemporary settings in both fashion and interior use. The choice of colours and patterns is extensive, whether used on their own or in combination they are characterful and create great visual impact.

From the extensive collections in our Strome and Reiver fabrics we can provide lengths from stock or on a made to order basis for larger amounts.

We also offer a collection of throws also in pure new wool interpreted in classic tartans and contemporary checks. These coordinate with our fabric collections and are also available from stock.

With our in-house design team, we create new tartans and designs for our own collections and bespoke to customers’ requirements. Minimum orders can be manufactured in both fabric qualities and throws.

Whilst we’ve worked with interior designers and on specific projects, we’ve not fully promoted our fabrics and throws for interior use however, we hope by taking part in The Scottish Interior Show we can introduce our collections to a wider audience.

Our heavy weight kilt fabric is firm and durable, has an excellent swing and it is ideal for kilts and has also been used to great effect in many other applications, from upholstery to bags, in classic cars to catwalk classics it oozes Scottish authenticity. Considered by many to be the premium kilt fabric, it is available in a collection of over 500 stock supported tartans we aim to ensure all are in stock or in the process of being made to replenish stocks Sold by the linear metre, we are happy to quote for cut lengths and bulk orders, please ask our sales team for further details. The natural properties of wool, combined with the high quality of our classic woven tartans also make them ideal for interior design projects.

A ll our fabric qualities have been tested to BS EN 14465:2003 Abrasion Resistance and to BS EN 1021-1:2014, BS EN 1021-2:2014

Flammability Resistance.

Our light weight Reiver quality passes the abrasion test for Light Domestic use making it suitable for throw cushions, loose covers and similar.

Our medium and heavier weight Braeriach and Strome qualities are suitable for Heavy Domestic use, such as upholstery, from stock.

We also offer a bespoke treatment service to upgrade our Braeriach and Strome quality to Severe Contract use (Crib 5) if required.

Reiver™ Fabric Collection

100% Pure New Wool DRY CLEAN ONLY

Weight: 320/325gms per linear metre - (10oz per linear yard) Width: 150cm (59”)

Our lightweight fabric is available in a collection of around 500 authentic tartans, estate style checks and solid colours. These are generally available from stock or if not currently in stock they are likely to be in the process of being made to replenish stocks. With a nice drape and handle the Reiver™ fabric has a wide application of uses. It has been used successfully in many clothing types from jackets to ties, skirts to dresses, head wear and even shoes. In traditional Scottish wear it is successful in sashes, cummerbunds, capes and as a lightweight kilt cloth. Additionally it works well in interiors as cushions, curtains and light use upholstery. Sold by the linear metre, we are happy to quote for cut lengths and bulk orders, please ask our sales team for further details.
