The Deep, based on the book by Tim Winton Alice and her family live by the sea. Every day her family goes down to the jetty for a swim. Mum and dad dive and make huge belly flops as her brother does bombies off the top rail! But Alice, who is not afraid of snakes or spiders, just watches from the rail. Alice is scared of the deep. Even with all the encouragement in the world, Alice is scared to swim where the ocean turns from green to blue. But an unsuspecting swim with the local dolphins changes all of that. Brought to you by Australia’s champions of puppetry, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, The Deep is all about forgetting to be scared! Price per person: Adult: $15; Group 8+/Members: $12; School Groups 8+: $10

Library displays Material futures: Chemistry Display There is more to materials than look and feel. It takes many, and often special, properties to suit particular uses. Rising demand and changing needs require new and improved materials which save time, energy and resources. Chemists work with all forms of matter to meet these material futures. The exhibition focuses on the role chemistry plays in improving materials and creating new ones to meet our changing needs. It’s topics include magnetism, light metals and optical fibres, and there is an emphasis on sustainability. March, during opening hours Contact 3412 4180

No Added Sugar: Australian Muslim Women’s Arts Project On tour from Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Sydney, No Added Sugar is a ground-breaking visual arts exhibition that is the outcome of the national initiative, the Australian Muslim Women’s Arts Project. This project aimed from the outset to engage participants, artists and audiences in a dialogue about identity, self-determination and personal development and change – be that through life experience or the process of art making itself. The core values articulated at the very start of the project: respect, trust and independence, have been the guide for the process throughout. The sincerity and integrity of this process is reflected in the openness of the artists to express themselves and to engage with complex, often confronting ideas through a diversity of media and concepts that reflect the rich complexity of the Australian Muslim experience. FREE exhibition. Fri 21 Feb - Sat 29 Mar, Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm

Calendar Girls When Annie’s husband John dies from Leukaemia, she and her best friend Chris resolve to resolve to raise money for a new sofa in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow Woman’s Institute members to pose nude with them for an “alternative” calendar. With their modesty spared only by artfully placed cakes, knitting and flower arrangements and a little help from the hospital porter and an amateur photographer they complete the calendar. The news of the women’s charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapely in the Yorkshire Dales (UK). The calendar is a huge success, but Chris and Annie’s friendship is put to the test under the strain of their newfound fame. Price per person: Adult: $30; Concession: $28; Group 8+/Member: $25
