Welcome Logan Art Gallery showcases the best local and touring art, craft and design exhibitions. Be inspired by practical art workshops and exhibition talks, find beautiful, locally made artworks at the Gallery Store or the Creative Markets, and enjoy the activities in the Young Peoples Gallery. Logan Art Gallery is one of the most dynamic regional art galleries in South-East Queensland. We hope our new What’s on sparks your creativity and encourages you to visit. We look forward to seeing you at the gallery. Venue hire and group bookings Logan Art Gallery, including its creative arts workshop, is available for private and community functions and events. Large groups are encouraged to call and inform us of their intended visit. Logan Art Gallery staff will provide free tours to interested groups booking at least a week in advance of their visit. Groups can also book practical activities to further enhance their visit. Activities Meet the artists and participate in free events, activities and talks held in conjunction with the exhibition program. • All children will need to be signed in and out by a parent, adult guardian or carer. • Parents or carers are to remain with children aged seven and under. • Closed in shoes must be worn by all activity participants.

16 June to 22 July - Exhibitions OmiLee: Seasons may change Eagleby artist OmiLee creates vibrant artworks which respond to the environment around her. By building up daily layers of acrylic paint, the artist reflects on changes in the environment over time, as seen through her studio window.
Ripple effect: out of Artwaves (part one) Each year Logan Art Gallery selects one of the outstanding young artists who exhibited in the annual Artwaves: Logan and adjacent areas secondary schools art exhibition to mentor in developing their own solo exhibition for the Young Peoples Gallery. Due to the outstanding field of applicants, two young students were offered mentorships. As a result, Logan Art Gallery will this year feature two exhibitions. Ripple effect: out of Artwaves (part one) features an exhibition by Holly Le Masurier.

Between the Desert and the Moon: Central and Western Desert Artists Between the Desert and the Moon: Central and Western Desert Artists is an exhibition of Aboriginal paintings from the Western Desert region. Art and Dementia Program Logan Art Gallery offers discussionbased tours of works of art for people with dementia and their carers. Facilitated by our trained volunteers, the participants are encouraged to contribute knowledge, engage in interpretation, express emotions and recall memories. Involvement in this nationwide program has been shown to increase well-being and the quality of life for participants. Calling all artists, performers, writers and cultural workers Logan Artworkers Networking Events (LANE) was developed through feedback from arts practitioners wanting to establish links with each other, to help build a stronger arts community in the city and participate in vibrant local projects. LANE is held at Logan Art Gallery and explores a variety of themes to develop and nurture creativity in the City of Logan so the community benefits socially and economically from the arts.

Sheer determination and a love of music resulted in the steelpan being developed. This invention grew through adversity and necessity in musician Alvin Rostant’s homeland Trinidad and Tobago. Alvin invites you on a journey of discovery through his rousing live performance followed by the beautiful documentary Pan Odyssey.
Country music legend Roger Knox has been performing for more than four decades to Australian and international audiences. Australian Aboriginal people are closest to his heart and know Roger as the Black Elvis and the Koori King of Country. Roger is guided by spiritual commitment and a loyalty to his Aboriginal Mission Station roots. He sings songs that reflect his identity as a Gomeroi man, telling stories about his country and culture.

Logan Art Gallery Store The Logan Art Gallery Store has a range of unique gifts and collectables – perfect for a special occasion. Designs include textiles, ceramics, glassware, timber items, handmade jewellery, books and cards. The store is located inside the gallery and is open 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
Sotto Voce Ensemble Saturday 22 July, 2pm to 3.30pm Logan Art Gallery Award-winning Sotto Voce Ensemble comprises students from MacGregor State High School and Canterbury College. All members play several instruments. Sotto Voce Ensemble will play a program of solo and ensemble works from classical to modern.
