MARCH
When I was asked to write the intro for the Guatemala Finance newsletter for March 2022 in honor of Women’s History Month, I was beyond honored. I must pause and remind myself of how I arrived at this point in my career and the women that made great sacrifices to mold my character and set examples of endurance and determination. From my great-grandmother Ada, who was sent away from her family as a young girl with her sister Carrie to Wheelock Academy for Native American Girls in Oklahoma. To my maternal grandmother Clara, 1st generation American with roots in Finland, who went on to earn her teaching degree and gave back generously to her community through her love of education, history, and learning. My parental grandmother, Muriel, who decided at age 38 to begin college and obtain a degree in Special Education and shared her life lessons and perspective of the world until her passing at 104 years old. I was surrounded by strong women, the women that came before us and paved the way for many of us. GoTo provided a path for me in 2010 to switch careers entirely from banking to technology, both predominately male industries for senior management opportunities. I began as a manager with 5 direct reports in Santa Barbara, focusing on Ecommerce Fraud Prevention and Payment Processing. Through many transitions of the Company and several different leaders, my responsibilities have expanded to cover not only Fraud and Payment Processing but Order Processing, Analytics and Revenue Operations. The team has expanded from 5 to 33 employees and 4 supervisors based in the US, Budapest, Guatemala, and Bangalore. I embrace the opportunity to strategize and share my knowledge with this diverse team we have created and learn from them as well. I am beyond thankful for the examples and support from my past, embracing the challenges of the present, and excited about the future of women in the workplace and world. We are all teachers. We are all students. Never quit learning and be ready for the next possibility. CHARLOTTE CRANDALL SR. DIRECTOR ORDER PROCESSING & PAYMENT ANALYTICS

LUISA PONCE - CPS Luisa became part of the company in March. She is a dog person, loves science fiction movies (team marvel) and books. We had a whole conversation about this, but she doesn't like coffee. She says everyone in her family drink coffee but she never really got interested in it. She is more of a tea person. ADRIANA IXCOT - PARTNER COMMISSION SPECIALIST On the other hand, Adriana likes a good cup of coffee in the morning with no sugar (as it should be). She actually is a morning person, but curiously enough her mood depends on weather. She is a fan of SFX make up and she also likes everything that's related to paranormal stuff.
AIDA AVILA - RSO Aida is a kid person. She was part of the chiquirrines club (which is kind of the mickey mouse club) and she just loves kids. She has a 7 year old son named Thiago. She is a family person and always puts them first. She loves to watch movies, eating something delicious, hang out with her friends and dancing. She actually wanted to become a dancer when she was a kid, but then she just decided she was going to become a lawyer REBECA LUCERO - CPS Becky likes to dance, HIMYM and is a really proactive person. But I can bet my job when you see her, you can't even imagine she is already married for two years now, has already studied a master in forensic psychology... aaand is 26 years old. I don't know which part shook me the most to be honest. I thought she was like 20. But as she says ¨this is what the Get To know them section is for¨ and well... she is right. (still shook)
JOSE GUSTAVO MARTINEZ ORDER PROCESSING SPECIALIST
My man here sent me a whole testament of his life so I will try to sum it up and include everything so here I come... Outside the office Gustavo is known as Chepito. He is 30 years young, a very expressive and competitive person and really enjoys a good hamburguer. He is very friendly and you can approach to him at any time if you need anything work related or just a conversation. He is a sports journalist and likes to play soccer, baseball, tenis, etc. But besides that he likes movies and videogames. ¨I can recomend almost any movie where Leo DiCaprio or Brad Pitt show up¨ he says, since they are 2 of his favorite actors. Growing up he loved to play Nintendo games, specially Zelda. But more recently, his favorite game is The Last of Us which he considers a work of art. If you like that type of content, you can follow him on twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/cheppitto

SOMETHING TO WATCH Disney and Pixar's Turning Red introduces Mei Lee, a confident, dorky thirteen-year-old torn staying between her mother's dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Andrea Cooper knows everything about her mother Laura. She’s knows she’s spent her whole life in the small beachside town of Belle Isle; she knows she’s never wanted anything more than to live a quiet life as a pillar of the community; she knows she’s never kept a secret in her life. Because we all know our mothers, don’t we?
