ACG CROSSES THE LINE... AGAIN! IT'S BARELY BEEN 2 YEARS SINCE THE LAST SERIOUS INCIDENT BETWEEN FANS and stadium security/officials took place and as fans were packing up as they usually do, the highly "intelligent" staff from ACG decided to display all their wor th in front of a small crowd combined of fellow security, VicPol and NT Members. The reason is not clear, nor it is our place to go in to detail, however there can be no excuse for the physical abuse dished out by at least 2 of ACG's staff. It is not yet clear what will come of the incident, but Nor th Terrace leaders at the incident immediately requested that both men be excluded from patrolling the active areas and even suggested they be removed from all football games. Club officials also agreed and as far as anyone was lead to believe, neither of the guards will be seen anywhere near the active areas again.

It comes after perhaps one of the more intense games, as far as fans were concerned, as ACG requested one of the younger North Terrace members be removed for verbal abuse. Whilst we don't necessarily agree with people verbally abusing officials for no reason, it is very difficult to understand what is going through the minds of some officials that a bit of lip service is leading to evictions and physical confrontations. Under the current agreement between the club and its most loyal fans, no ACG member is allowed to enter the active area for any issue unless it has been discussed and the North Terrace leaders are given a chance to diffuse the situation without unnecessary intervention from the heavy handed security guards. If you find yourself on the wrong end of any confrontation you should look for one of the Nor th Terrace leaders to help. //

FAN CAM FAIL 17 November 2012 DURING THE HOME GAME VS THE CENTRAL COAST THERE WAS A NEW ADDITION TO THE NORTH TERRACE. IT WAS AN UNWELCOME FOXSPORTS INITIATIVE THAT HAD C AUSED SOME UNNECESSARY ANGER AMONGST FANS AND MEMBERS OF SECURITY. The fan cam became famous earlier in the season when it appeared in front of The Cove up in Sydney. What is now more of a joke, rather then a display of passion and a first hand look at the "90 emotions", the majority of footage shown from that night in Sydney is of a fan clowning around and making an absolute fool of himself. It does no good for the game. The fan cam traveled to Brisbane as well and there were rumors it would also appear down in Melbourne. When fans turned up to prepare for the clash against the Central Coast, it was very clear to see that the fan cam would be in use.

IFM can reveal that talks were held by members of the North Terrace and FoxSports staff on the night to remove the camera from the area as they did not see it necessary to have a permanent fix on their section. The FoxSports staff were also warned that if the camera remained they ran the risk of it becoming a target for projectiles and that some fans would try anything to get rid of it. Apar t from the unnecessary close ups, the fan cam posed a safety risk for those being filmed at close proximity as there has already been an attempted kidnapping of one of the North Terrace members. These warnings were not taken seriously and there were little (if any) effor ts made by FoxSports and staff from the venue/security to remove the camera from the area. It remained for the first 45mins. Towards the end of the first half, there were incidents which led to the eviction of 2 fans, although not necessary linked to having the fan cam so close to the terrace, fans used the half time break to once again put their case forward and have the fan cam removed. After much deliberation, the fan cam was dismantled in the opening stages of the second half, however it was an hour too late.
Tensions were high for the first time in a long time amongst the members of the North Terrace who had emptied most of the main bay in protest. A group of 200-300 moved to L3 and continued to support for the remainder of the night. It was also later discovered that a cable had been cut. Since the beginning of last season where fans had finally come to an agreement or arrangement which saw a decrease in security and police within the active areas, on this night the "away" kits returned to try and take control of a situation that could have been avoided well before kick off. The club may also have a hefty repair bill on its hands as reports suggest a large amount of broken seats, an unnecessary consequence for the sake of a few happy snaps. One should consider passing on the bill to the broadcaster who refused to take fans seriously during the initial discussion which took place approximately 1 hour before kick off.
Some fans may want to clown around and have fun in front of the cameras, but we do what we do for the 11 lads out on the pitch, not for the guys sitting at home watching on pay tv. This is not big brother or X-factor, THIS IS FOOTBALL.
