Urban Plan for Lucera
01
URBAN PLAN FOR LUCERA The project was developped during the course of “Laboratorio di Progettazione Urbanistica”, or Urban planning. The target was to develop an intervention process based on the reuse of the existing buildings, new infrastructure and public transport web, and an improved layout of the urban grid. The goal was to be able to insert a new campus to hold the faculty of Archeology and Cultural Heritage of the Università di Foggia. These actions intend to reactivate a city that has been used over the years for similar purposes, but never had a real impact on the local economy and population. Politectico di Milano prof. Intervention in Hampi
02 INTERVENTION IN HAMPI For this exercise at CEPT University, the target was to explore the expectations and opportunities of a boundary wall for a heritage precint. The project intends to bring a crear view and understanding of the surroundings of the main road that leads from the town of Kamlapur to the ruins of the old market in Hampi. Also, it seeks to provide shelter and facilities to the visitors and locals, as well as to give a sense of unity to the complex. The result is a chain of horizontal planes, serving as platforms and rooftops that would guide and give shelter to the visitor along the way. It provides the possibility of stopping and gazing into the upcoming site. CEPT prof. Shubrha Raje 2012

The materials
The Above Ground
The Under Ground
All the materials are chosen by the observation of the local architecture. The goal is to use the sources atteinable to the locals, so that the buildings could be constructed in a process of making, possibly developped during one of the workshop periods mentioned in the program.
The spaces intendes to be settled above the ground are those that are linked to more fluent and changing activities. These are temporary spaces, suitable to different pblic uses.
The act of carving the ground requires a more intended purpose; therefore, the part of the program inserted underground is the more permanent and more formal part. The transition between above and below means a changing in importance and solemnity.

L’altra Residenza
03 L’ALTRA RESIDENZA Developped in the vibrant sity of Milan, L’altra residenza refers to another way of living. Another type of residence. The project offers high quality renting space, including comfortable privacy conditions, without giving into an isolated way of life. If provides a living space embedded in an already established community, mixing cultures and activities, and taking advantage of the existing available architecture. It introduces a shared hybrid programe. The project intends to turn the individual into a more social being. It places one or twomembered families into an optimal space for academic, professional and cultural development ETSAM prof. Juan Herreros 2014

Occupation
Skin
The store is occupied by a grid based on the distances and dimensions needed for a multiple exhibition space that breaks with the one-way perception of the room.
The pieces of scaffolding are then placed on the grid. Each bar has a fixing bolt every 50 cm to join the horizontal pieces.
The structure is joined and made stable by the horizontal pieces placed all along the higher end of the masts. The rest of the bars are placed to hold the OSB wood boards where all the designer pieces are displayed.
Some of the areas are covered with a low opacity fabric to create visually semi-independent spaces and define new itineraries.

05 TYPOLOGICAL CORRECTIOS Final Thesis The city is analyzed as a place that has lost its ideal conditions to live, but still offers an urban tissue with enough potential and architectural interest to be transformed and fixed. The project considers buildings and infrastructure as an open field to re-use, re-live, re-program, redensify and re-organize.

00 Madrid Working Place
01 The creative class The values and lifestyles more likely to push the economy forward are those of the most up to date, multidisciplinary, restless and curious minds. In other words, those of the more creative people.
02 Coworking Working is now perceived as a sharing process. The entrepreneur can now count on a wide training network that allows them to develop any business idea.
03 Growing Asset The advantages of participating in a coworking space as small entrepreneur are many. Nevertheless the advantages of starting up a coworking space are even more. It appears to be a quite safe investment.
04 Slow-living The slow movement is considered a philosophy of living that invites us to take the necessary time to create a quality product, enjoy the process, and commit to the natual timing of things.

02 New Concepts on the Block
Perimeter The most unprotected houses are those around the perimeter at groundflor. Changing this situation and substituting these houses for other public program would not only improve the perimeter, but would also have enormus reprecusions and improvements inside the block.
All-in-one It’s not about isolating the block, but developping a theme block creating a sense of belonging among the inhabitants. The new program will offer a day-long activity scheddule to meet, work, study, eat... A high performance block.
Transitions
Sensitive gentrification
Hight contrast between public and private space is now an important issue to work on. There is a need to dissolve these limits and create more stages in between. Only then will it be possible to take full advantage of the block’s virtues.
Introducing a new theme in the block, attracting a target demographic will inevitably start a gentrification process in the neighbourhood. The aim is to soften this process by introducing a non-agressive program that will easily coexist with the current neighbours.

03 Transformations & New Values
Parks & gardens
Access
The preservation of the existing plants and trees settles an important guideline for the intervention inside the courtyards. The new design protects the houses on the groundfloor, keeping all the pathways away from the faรงades.
The newly built towers between the existig buildings constitute the main gateways to the inside of the block.
Envelope
New surfaces
The block is covered all around with a metalic net that serves as double skin. It protects the faรงade and openings and allows vegetation to grow around the block.
The extention of the spaces at groundfloor offers new exterior space for the houses on the first floor. It opens new possibilities of use and blurs de line betwen in&out.

The apartments at groundfloor are substituted by a new public program acting as a buffer between the street and the interior of the block. The spaces are recicled, refilled and stretched towards the gardens, bringing light to the interior.
The perimeter is completed with new constructions, filling the voids between the buildings and creating an entry space to the gardens and apartments inside the block.
The intervention proposes new housing typologies on the rooftops around the perimeter, built in a light material that will not overwhelme the original structure.
