The idea for Kings Island was conceived

Ta4 Broadcas6ng purchased 1,600 acres of land in Warren County, Ohio for $3.2 million for the purpose of building one of the finest amusement/theme parks in the country, Kings Island

The construc6on of Kings Island began

Kings Island opened to the public

Screamin' Demon debuted as the first forward and then backward-­‐ looping roller coaster in the United States

The Beast was unveiled & was the biggest, baddest, longest, fastest wooden roller coaster in the world

The park introduced The Bat, which was the world's first suspended roller coaster (which only lasted 2 years due to many issues)

Kings Island became the first amusement/ theme park to hold a winter event when Winterfest was introduced

King Cobra debuted & was the first stand-­‐ up roller coaster in the world

The Ta4 Broadcas6ng Company sold Kings Island to Kings Entertainment Company

The Vortex was added and was the first roller coaster in the world to feature six inversions

Before the end of the season, Kings Island was sold for the second 6me in three years to American Financial Corpora6on

WaterWorks made its debut as a family waterpark

Kings Island was purchased by Paramount Communica6on Inc. for $400 million

Kings Island unveiled the world's first Linear Induc6on Motor (LIM) launch roller coaster, The Outer Limits: Flight of Fear

Kings Island revealed plans to build the Son of Beast roller coaster which claimed several world records, including the tallest, fastest and only looping wooden roller coaster.

Kings Island introduced Delirium, the worlds first Giant Frisbee ride

Waterworks changed its name & expanded into Boomerang Bay

Kings Island and the four other Paramount Parks were sold to Cedar Fair Entertainment Company for $1.25 billion

Diamondback, the tallest and fastest roller coaster to ever strike Kings Island was revealed

The Peanuts took over the park

Banshee was unveiled as the world’s longest inverted coaster

Kings Island received it’s 15th Golden Ticket Award for the Best Kids Area & added the area’s largest Starbucks

The park will expand it’s Soak City water park by adding a complex of six different water slide experiences towering nearly seven stories & will add a new entrance to the park
