Whatever ways you find to support our missionaries, perhaps your greatest gift can be regular, consistent prayer.
To better equip you in your prayers, LCM produces a quarterly prayer guide, Together, which gives a closer insight into the life of our missionaries and their work. Missionaries can provide their own individual prayer letter too. Our magazine Changing London will also keep you informed of the many and varied aspects of our ministry. All these are freely available from our Headquarters or through our website (contact details below).

Through both their words and actions, they are making a difference to communities and in individual lives. You can play a part in their mission. You can help them. You can make a difference through your prayers.

Here is a weekly guide to help you when praying individually for our missionaries.
Sunday: Spiritual life Pray that despite all their necessary busyness, the missionaries will maintain their day-by-day walk with God.
Pray that the missionaries will be given the exact words to say in every situation.
Pray for good links with both their sending churches and those churches that they belong to in London.
In multi-cultural London, pray for each missionary to closely identify with the people they are seeking to reach, to be able to communicate God’s love effectively.
Monday: Their area of ministry Pray that the missionary will understand the physical and spiritual needs of those around them, showing love for everyone, regardless of their background, lifestyle, etc. Many missionaries face resistance to the gospel. Pray for open doors and open hearts to receive God’s truth. Many who have made their home in London come from overseas. Thank God for the opportunities to share the gospel with people who may never have heard of the new life that Jesus offers. Pray that some of these contacts from overseas may in turn become missionaries in their own country.

Tuesday: Sharing the gospel
Pray for the missionary’s involvement with their contacts as they earn the right to share the message.
Wednesday: Physical well-being Pray for good physical health and strength for the missionary and their family.
Thursday: Home/family life Pray for all aspects of family life. Many of our staff come to London from across the world and are living away from their home country, family and supporters. Please remember those missionaries who do not have immediate personal contact with their families. Whether the missionary is married or single, they may sometimes feel lonely or isolated in their ministry. Pray for good relationships and opportunities to spend time with friends. Just like anyone else, missionaries and their families need to take a break too! Ask God to provide them with opportunities to relax.
Friday: Personal relationships Pray for good relationships with other team members. Pray for perseverance when long-term contacts continue to show little interest or understanding of spiritual matters.
Saturday: A fruitful harvest When a spiritual harvest seems a long time in coming, pray the missionary will find strength and encouragement in Jesus. Pray for God to bring in more workers to be actively involved in the harvest.
London can be a dangerous place to live and work. Pray for courage, protection and safety on the streets. Pray for emotional health too missionaries can suffer the pain of rejection. When faced with opposition, pray that God will enable them to stand firm. Pray they will be kept from discouragement, loneliness and depression.
