We are so disappointed that we are unable to welcome you onto our campus this summer for our traditional Welcome Days. We know that meeting our staff (your potential future teachers!) is one element of the day that is most important to our applicants.

Although you are unable to meet our teachers face-to-face this year, you are able to hear from them virtually!

By visiting the Long Road Live page on our website (click here!) you can watch videos on each of our academic courses, hear from our teachers and current students!

These videos will give you an introduction to the course and an insight into the topics you will be studying when you join us in September.

BE PREPARED SUMMER WORK 2021

join us as a Long Road student and we hope you are as excited as we are!

One of the most important activities to help prepare you for your studies as a Long Road student is completing the summer work tasks for GCSE English, Level 4 Foundation Art and each of your A Level and Level 3 Applied subjects

Our teachers cannot wait to meet you all, in fact, they are so enthusiastic to start working with you that they have created “Summer Work Explanation Videos” to introduce themselves and help get you started on their summer task activities. You can view these videos at any time by visiting our website or YouTube Channel - don't forget to subscribe!

If you do find that you have some questions then please don’t hesitate in contacting your Course Team Leader, you will find their contact details at the bottom of the Summer Work page. All Summer Work should be completed and ready to hand in during your first lesson at Long Road.

These activities aren’t here to trip you up or catch you out, they’re designed to give you an extra taste of what you will be learning during your time at Long Road and we hope you have fun completing them!

LONG ROAD LIVE 1PM - 1:45PM THURSDAY 24 JUNE Long Road Live is dedicated to introducing you to Long Road life. Our student ambassadors were really looking forward to meeting you this week and telling you all about their experiences of Long Road.

Instead of doing this face-to-face, they will be discussing everything you want to know about our Long Road community during our virtual welcome event!

During Long Road Live, you will have the opportunity to ask our student ambassadors questions on everything and anything you want to know about Long Road.

Don’t worry – you won’t have to turn your camera or microphone on, all questions will be asked anonymously via our live Q&A chat box function.

Although this isn’t quite the welcome that we had planned for you, we hope that you will still find this an engaging introduction to Long Road Life - we look forward to answering all of your questions!

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED! LIVE STUDENT Q&A Long Road Live is focused on answering all the questions you have about student life at Long Road. Our student ambassadors will be answering your questions LIVE on camera but how do you ask a question?

The Q&A panel should open on your screen when you join our event. Select Ask a question at the bottom of the panel. Type your question in the box, and then select Send. If you want to ask your question anonymously, select Post as anonymous before you send it.


NEXT STEPS AUDITIONS & KEY DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

It's only a few months until you can officially enrol as a Long Road student! Our Admissions Team will be in touch with you throughout the summer with lots of important information, but we know you're keen to find out what happens next, so we've put together this brief overview to help you out!

PERFORMING ARTS AUDITIONS If you have applied to study Drama, Music or Musical Theatre we know that the cancellation of our Welcome Days has probably caused some worries about your audition - but don't panic! Auditions will now take place on 1st, 2nd and 3rd September 2021 when you will be invited to come on campus. We are currently planning this and we will share updated information closer to the time. In the meantime, you can continue to prepare for your audition(s).

KEY DATES 2021 12 August GCSE Results Day

1pm 13 August Exam results submitted to applicants Long Road online account

16 - 27 August New student online enrolment and Virtual Advice and Guidance Enrolment Interviews

7 - 8 September New student induction days take place on campus

9 September Teaching starts for all Long Road students!

If you have met your course entry requirements you can expect to receive an enrolment offer to accept from the 13 August onwards. If you want to change your courses you can schedule an Advice and Guidance meeting to discuss your next steps. If you have not met your course entry requirements then please do not panic! You will be automatically invited to an Advice and Guidance meeting to look at an alternative study programme with courses that you are qualified to study, wherever possible. All Advice and Guidance Meetings will take place between 16 - 27 August. All meetings will be conducted virtually either via video call or telephone call.

ENROLMENT PROCESS Once you have accepted your place of study you can begin the enrolment process!

New student enrolment is a blend of virtual and on-campus activities that must be completed before you join us in September. We will email all the information you need to complete the online enrolment process and invite you to one of our Induction Days on the 7th or 8th of September, giving you the chance to settle in before teaching tarts on the 9th of September!
