Jamie Robinson, Celebrating Longview's Beauty, One Mural at a Time

In the heart of downtown Longview, vibrant murals and art pieces have sprung to life, infusing the city with color, energy, and a sense of community pride. Among the artists behind this transformation stands Jamie Robinson, the creative force behind Pallet Mural Designs. Her journey into the world of mural art began as a response to the challenges posed by the trying year of 2020, a year marked by darkness and uncertainty.

Jamie, along with her husband, recognized the need for uplifting and positive endeavors during these tough times. She recalls, "I've always been that person that when your friends need a person to paint something, they're like, 'Hey, we know Jamie paints.' So, I did one of our Sunday school rooms, Jonah and the whale, Daniel in the lion's den, you know, all those things. But it was just for friends. Just for fun."

But the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic sparked a desire to make a more significant impact. Jamie and her family decided to channel their creativity into something that would bring joy and positivity to Longview. As Jamie puts it, "There needs to be some good in the world. I want to paint something for someone, to do something." That's when the journey of Pallet Mural Designs began.

Their very first mural project was a gift to the Boys and Girls Club, a symbol of hope and resilience in challenging times. The project's success marked the beginning of an inspiring venture that would soon add color to numerous spaces in Longview and its surrounding areas.

Jamie's murals can be found throughout the city, with eye-catching creations adorning the Boys and Girls Club, the heart of downtown, the Martin House, the Longview World of Wonders, and more. Her work not only beautifies these spaces but also fosters a sense of unity and celebration within the community.

I couldn't live in a completely white-walled space; I need some color. Hopefully, my art inspires people.

Jamie's passion for her craft is evident in her words: "I love that it makes people happy. I couldn't live in a completely white-walled space; I need some color. Hopefully, my art inspires people." She firmly believes that creative talents are gifts meant to be shared, and she hopes that her work inspires others to embrace and pursue their own creative desires.

As Jamie continues to paint the town with her remarkable murals, she remains dedicated to adding vibrancy and a welcoming spirit to Longview. She envisions her art as a way to make the city more inviting, a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging and community. "Longview," she says, "is all about welcoming people with open arms." Through her murals, she's doing just that— welcoming everyone to share in the colorful tapestry of Longview's artistic spirit.
