The Green

The Green is a nine-acre, outdoor event area doubling as a reforestation effort, with a half-mile walking trail meandering through native East Texas trees and natural wildlife. Educational installations strive to teach about health, nature, art, and music. Climbable obstacles, including rock climbing in miniature for your thrill seekers in training, evoke a sense of natural adventure. A large pavilion is available for any event or bring a picnic basket and settle in the shade for a wonderful afternoon. The Green is open every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Longview Arboretum

The Longview Arboretum and Nature Center, located on 29 acres just east of Maude Cobb Convention Center, features formal gardens, fountains, pavilions, and exuberant plant collections, all strung like pearls along a smooth walking path meandering under a canopy of East Texas pine trees.  This unique setting is perfect for weddings, engagements, private parties, large events, and photo sessions.  The Spring and Fall ROOTS Concert Series brings live entertainment to the great outdoors while year-round education classes and seminars brings environmental and conservation enlightenment to our great indoors.

Summer hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 7 a.m.-3p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m.-5p.m. The Nature Center at 706 West Cotton Street welcomes daily admissions or scheduled group tours with a gift shop, classrooms, and rentable meeting spaces. 903-212-2181.  Check out our Facebook page for the latest info or click here.
