You’ll work closely with our faculty and clinical educators to gain the knowledge, training, and skills necessary to practice as a speech-language pathologist serving a diverse population of adults and children in educational and healthcare settings.

In collaboration with the VDOE, we offer the CTE New Teacher Institute each summer as a 1 week, 3 credit course: PEDU 437 Career and Technical Education Curriculum & Instruction. CTE teachers may also take our professional studies licensure courses to fulfill additional VDOE requirements.

Educational Leadership Endorsement
21 credits - Hybrid (Face-to-Face & Online) | Cohorts begin each fall.
Prepares you for administrative and supervisory responsibilities, resource management, and program planning and implementation. Successful completion of the courses meets eligibility requirements for the Administration and Supervision PreK-12 endorsement.

Provisional Licensure Completion Initiative

We offer courses provisionally licensed teachers are required to complete for full licensure and will create a personal plan outlining the courses you need to take based on your VDOE Evaluation Letter. We will provide you with advising and coaching.

LCSW Supervisor Training Workshop
Fully Online
The workshop, Clinical Supervision: Critical Cultural Competence and Supervision in Rural Settings, is an online 14-hour training that is designed to fulfill the Virginia Board of Social Work’s requirement for Licensed Clinical Social Workers to provide clinical supervision to social workers pursuing their LCSW.

Moton Museum Teacher Institute
Summer workshops designed to review civil rights, massive resistance, and desegregation histories in the context of the Farmville Moton Museum. Teachers learn classroom techniques including primary source analysis and research skills.
Teacher Recertification and Professional Development
We offer a selection of non-credit classes designed to fit your schedule with your budget in mind. Our non-credit classes begin at $99. In addition to gaining professional skills, this is a perfect opportunity to earn recertification points or continuing education units (CEUs).
Virginia Holocaust Museum
The Alexander Lebenstein Teacher Education Institute
This class, offered by the VHM and Longwood University, provides up to 45 recertification points with sessions focusing on best practices and resources you can use in the classroom when teaching the Holocaust. Educators will have opportunities to explore and interact with museum resources.
