A NEW START’S MARKET. Alcohol/Opiate addiction and the treatment of opioid/alcohol dependence has received increased attention in recent years due to the epidemic rise in the number of cases of opioid/ alcohol abuse, dependence, and overdose deaths in the United States. While there are many contributing factors, a client patient’s access to appropriate addiction treatment and affordability of treatment is now fertile ground to begin planting seeds for best practices. Federal, state and local governments are increasingly motivated to take vigorous actions to stem the availability of illegal opiates and illegitimately prescribed medication. This is only one step, however. Treatment centers, popping up everywhere, have the potential to provide a safe environment for client patients to understand themselves and to discover the wholeness of responsibility. In such a safe environment, treatment centers can make available a host of emotional and educational treatments to help addicted individuals learn to develop the maturation that evaded them until now. They can now understand their triggers, emotional weaknesses and to learn mental coping techniques, nutritional well-being, financial responsibility, and spiritual development. Treatment and managed care communities are now not only acceptable, they are the preferable solution to individuals and families touched by addiction, thus making it a vibrant market for success.
