A Family Ticket to the 22nd

Abingdon Air and Country Show The 22nd Abingdon Air and Country Show on Saturday 10th September provides a great day out for all the family with “something for everyone”, whilst raising money for charitable causes. This year, the three-hour Flying Display is set to include The Blades Aerobatic Display Team (4 Extra 300s flown by ex-RAF Red Arrows pilots), BBMF Spitfire, B17 Flying Fortress ‘Sally B’, Yak 3, Hawker Hurricane Mk I but most notably a large number of helicopters including 4 Gazelles, a Wasp, a Scout and, along with many more on static, one of only two airworthy Lynx now in private ownership. Classic Jets radio-controlled models will give two displays. Also, a highlight for our show, the RAF Falcons parachute team will, if you’ll pardon the pun, be dropping in! They have Abingdon history in their blood as the team started out in 1961 as ‘The Big Six’ and were formed of men from No 1 Parachute Training School based here at RAF Abingdon. Ground displays will include the Solent Stars Motorcycle Display Team, Arena Demonstrations of Falconry and Motorbikes, a Craft Marquee, Live Music and Dance, Steam Engines and a Miniature Steam Railway, Classic and ex-Military vehicles of all types and sizes, various Trade Stalls, Amusements and much more. To be in with a chance to WIN one of three Family Tickets (2 Adults & 2 Children - aged 15 or under) simply email (info@look-localmagazine.co.uk) the answer to this question along with your contact details;

Q: WHAT YEAR DID THE RAF FALCONS PARACHUTE TEAM START? Three winners will be selected at random from all correct entries and notified after the closing date of 25.08.22.
