Stocksbridge Park Steels have completed the signing of Harry Garman from Brighouse Town, Sam Green from Aberystwyth Town and Dan Nelson (pictured) from the reserves. Garman, a goalkeeper, signed for Brighouse Town in August 2023 from Yorkshire Amateur League side Alwoodley FC. He also works as a goalkeeping coach, including for Guiseley’s academy. He made 13 appearances
for Brighouse before making the move to the Steels. The next player to sign for Stocksbridge is Green, another goalkeeper. He came through the Lincoln City but most recently he has been at Aberystwyth Town in the Welsh Premier League. He has been playing for the Reserves recently but will also add goalkeeping competition for the first team.
er to register with the first team. Nelson was a key defender in the invincible U18s season last year and has since made the step up to the reserves with ease. He joins Ollie Nowak and Kyle Justin in registering for the first team. Next Home Game: Saturday 27 January, vs Carlton Town, 3pm KO

Weather the winner again Globe Holidays-sponsored Stocksbridge Rugby suffered their 6th weather-related postponement of the season when their away fixture against Leeds Modernians fell foul of the recent storms & rain. Another date will now have to be agreed upon as Stocksbridge will face a busy end-of-season schedule to fit all their fixtures in. A frustrated Stocksbridge Captain, that man Adam Frith commented, ‘it’s very disappointing, but I guess it can’t be helped,‘ before adding ‘The boys continue to train well, so we really need some competitive action soon!’
Stocksbridge will hope the weather treats them a little better at the weekend as they prepare to travel to the East Coast to face winless Hornsea RUFC, where Stocksbridge will be looking for a victory to cement further their lofty 3rd spot in the Counties 4 Yorkshire (Phase 2) South league ladder. The next home fixture is the clash with Knottingley RUFC at the Coal Pit Lane stadium on Saturday 3rd February, with a kick off time of 2.15pm.
The Tru7 Group Tigers will now host Oxford at Owlerton on Thursday, March 28 (7.30) - seven days later than first planned. It means they will now launch their Premiership campaign away to the Spires, with their clash at Sandy Lane bought forward a week to Thursday, March 21. The Tigers also head to Birmingham on Monday, March 25. A reminder that there is action at Owlerton on Thursday, March 14 (7.30) however as club captain Kyle Howarth stages his testimonial.
