POLICE officers investigating the death of a man in Chapeltown have named him as 59year-old Glenn Boardman.
Detectives investigating the death of Mr Boardman in the Chapeltown area of Sheffield have charged a man with his murder. Michael Andrew Goddard, 50, of Steven Close in Chapeltown has been remanded to custody and appeared at Sheffield Magistrates Court on Friday June 29. An investigation was launched into Mr Boardman’s death after his body was discovered at a house in Steven Close, just before 12.30am on Tuesday June 26. Emergency services were
called to the house but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination concluded that 59-year-old Mr Boardman died as a result of stab wounds.
Specialist officers are working with and providing support to Mr Boardman’s family, who have asked for their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time. Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Steve Handley said: “We are still in the very early stages of our investigation and are currently progressing a number of lines of
enquiry to understand the exact circumstances of the incident. “There is a dedicated team of officers working to review CCTV and forensic evidence, and I would urge anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to please report it.
“This incident occurred at a property on a cul-de-sac and anyone who may have seen anything, even if they believe it to be irrelevant is asked to contact police.” Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 29 of 26 June 2018.
