On Saturday 4th May, the sound of cow bells and whistles echoed through Grenoside woods as hundreds and maybe even thousands gathered to watch and take part in local former world champion Steve Peat’s annual Steel City Downhill. Peaty’s Steel City DH is a mini downhill race held annually in Greno Woods Shef-

field. It has been running since 2011 and raises money to fund trail building and maintenance in the woods ever since. It is a not for profit race with everyone volunteering their time and all proceeds reinvested in the woods making it the biggest little race on the calender.

Amongst the parish council elections, a teenager, James Swift,19, pictured was elected to represent the Chapeltown ward of Ecclesfield Parish council.
