Thousands of people have been evacuated, with hundreds of homes flooded in the worst hit areas.

Whilst the true extent of the damage of the floods is still being realised, disruption continues to schools, business, roads and public transport.

Local charity, South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) has launched the emergency appeal to raise funding to provide urgent support to those affected by the severe flooding and continued disruption.

This is the second flood appeal set up by SYCF. The last one was in 2007 in response to the devastating floods that affected the region at that time. The appeal has already achieved its target of raising £50,000 to support flood victims and a new target of £100,000 has now been set.

SYCF is asking for urgent donations so they can provide financial aid to those worst affected and in need of immediate support. You can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/ campaign/syfloods.
