Super Shay is back

ECCLESFIELD Sheffield Wednesday fan is once again gearing up to take on an epic challenge for charity.

Shay O’Grady is back with his second challenge in under a year. Nine-year-old Shay, dubbed ‘Super Shay’ by Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, walked from Bluebell Wood to Hillsborough ahead of the Steel City derby earlier this year, raising £10,000 for the hospice, with a fantastic boost from Sheffield Wednesday FC chairman, Dejphon Chansiri.

Shay is currently seven weeks into the first part of his new challenge – swimming the distance from Bramall Lane to Hillsborough, which is 6,000 metres.

February 8 2020 will see the end of his challenge, when he’ll walk from Hillsborough to Barnsley’s Town FC’s ground ahead of the South Yorkshire derby between the Tykes and the Owls.

After the match, Shay plans to tandem cycle back to Wednesday’s Hillsborough Stadium. He does it all for his beloved cousin Evie-Mae, who has a rare chromosome disorder.

Shay has already smashed his target but is still looking to raise as much as possible. You can donate at https:// uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ shayogrady
