ACCIDENT CAPTURED ON CCTV

A MANCHESTER Road resident caught a dramatic accident on CCTV last Tuesday, with two cars colliding before one of them destroyed part of a zebra crossing.

The incident occurred at the junction of Hole House Lane and Manchester Road. The resident said: “This is the junction which Sheffield Council have approved as being ‘safe enough’ to convert into a crossroads as part of their planning approval for a housing development.

“Stocksbridge Town Council objected to this as the junction is a notorious accident black spot but were overruled by the City Council.”
