The Easter Cross needs your help

THE Easter Cross has shone the Stocksbridge for many years now and this year there were many requests from the community for the cross to be lit for an extended period as a symbol of hope during the lockdown period due to the coronavirus.

Churches Together in Stocksbridge & District (CTSD), who organise this, obtained permission for the cross to be lit until the end of April.

In preparation for Easter, the cross was found to be in desperate need of repair work. The foundations need to be made more secure and the lights also need replacing. To this end, Churches Together created a Just Giving page at https://www. justgiving.com/crowdfunding/ctsdeaster-cross-2021
